Everyone loves smart lights and smart assistants. This deal from Best Buy combines them both for just $26, giving buyers a GE C-Life smart bulb and Google Home Mini. The Starter Kit usually goes for $55 but this deal makes it an easy buy for anyone with even a passing interest in trying out Google’s smart home system.

The Starter Kit contains two items: the Google Home Mini (first-gen) and the GE C-Life smart bulb. The smart bulb is a white light that uses about 84% less energy than a traditional 60-watt bulb and lasts 15 times as long. It allows you to create custom schedules and turn the lights on and off from the app, and it easily fits into existing overhead lights and floor lamps. It connects wirelessly to your Wi-Fi network without requiring a bridge or a hub. The GE C-Life bulb is snappy and responsive — ask the question, and your light will turn on immediately. The brightness level makes it a solid option for use in the kitchen or the bathroom.

The Google Home Mini is the first-gen version and normally retails for $50. You can use it to play music, find the answers to burning questions, and control devices within your home. It’s as simple as saying, “Hey Google, turn on the lights.” As far as appearances go, the Google Home Mini looks like a small gray puck. It will fit nearly anywhere in your home, and the far-field microphones allow it to pick up your voice from a long way away.

Best Buy includes two other free items in the package, as well. Buyers can get 3 months of SiriusXM for free and a 90-day premium subscription to Pandora. If you want to check out the audio quality of the Google Home Mini, then a Pandora subscription is a great way to start.

This is one of the lowest prices this starter kit has ever dropped. If you’re looking for a gift for a smart home enthusiast or simply for a way to break into the world of smart home technology yourself, the Google Smart Light Starter Kit is the place to start. Imaginary AI products

I wanted to invent an AI product so silly that no founder could turn it into a seed round.

It had to solve a problem nobody had, collect far more data than the problem deserved, and turn normal behavior into an insight that sounded vaguely disappointed in its owner. Somewhere around the third feature, it would ask for a subscription.
