There has never been a better time to take a selfie. We’ve got phones with good quality front cameras, those with amazing ones, and even phones with the same camera for front and rear use. But what about those times you want to snap pictures of yourself, but it’s just too dark? The new Lumigon T2 HD smartphone is what you need, as the front camera is accompanied by an LED flash.
Now, the flash isn’t equivalent to the six LED’s fixed to the back of this crazy tablet, but it’ll still be bright enough to illuminate your face, and probably those of any unsuspecting people behind you. Sadly, the camera itself isn’t a monster, and is equipped with modest 2.4-megapixels. On the back of the device is a 13-megapixel camera, with another LED flash unit.
Lumigon is a Danish company specializing in high-end, luxury electronics. Its first device was the original T1 smartphone, launched back in 2010. The new T2 HD is made from stainless steel, covered with a super durable PVD (that’s Physical Vapor Disposition) coating, often used in the watch industry. The whole device is water and dust resistant to IP65 certification levels, and the display is covered with Gorilla Glass 3.
The Lumigon T1 HD is tough, then, but what about the specification? The screen measures 4.3-inches, which is small by today’s standards, and has a 720p resolution, so at least it will be sharp. The processor is a dual-core Snapdragon with 2GB of RAM. There are three versions of the phone available, with either 32GB, 64GB, or a whopping 128GB of internal memory. Android 4.4 KitKat is installed, plus the phone has 4G LTE, NFC, and a Bang & Olufsen ICEPower amplifier powering a set of stereo speakers. Lumigon packs a set of in-ear earbuds, and a stylish dock with the phone.
All this doesn’t come cheaply, and to secure a T2 HD, you’ll need to splash out 730 euros, or just a touch over $1000. That’s for the standard 32GB black or white model, and there’s no word on how much the limited edition 24-carat gold version will cost. The phone will go on sale between now and June, but at the moment, it’ll only be sold in Denmark.
