How to preorder the AirPods 4: best deals so far

Apple AirPods 4.

We will continue to update this page as new offers become available.

There were a few new big announcements at Apple’s iPhone 16 event; one of the biggest is the new AirPods 4. They have new H2 chips with a lot of powerful features, including things like personalized spatial audio, better highs and bass performance, and a USB-C case that’s probably one of the smallest we’ve seen yet. Interestingly enough, Apple is also releasing two versions of the AirPods 4, one with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and one without, which is new and not something we tend to see on open-back designs like these. Of course, you also get new adaptive mode and transparency features as well.

Besides that, Apple announced five new colors for the AirPods Max: midnight, blue, purple, orange, and starlight. Also, the AirPods Pro 2 are picking up a couple of new health features, with the biggest one being the ability to use them as hearing aids. There weren’t any updates to hardware, and while the update is still coming down the line, you can check out these AirPods Pro 2 deals if you want to snag a pair, and you should probably do it quickly before others get the same idea and stock runs out.

With Apple’s new AirPods 4 just being released, the only deals and pre-order options we’re seeing right now are directly from Apple. If you’re going for the version without ANC, that’s going to run you a very reasonable $129, while the fancier ANC version will cost you $179. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem like Apple is offering any trade-in value with these, but you do get a free engraving if you want to, so that’s a nice little perk.

More ways to preorder the AirPods 4

With almost a full day passing since the original announcement, we’ve started to see some retailers put up pre-orders for both the ANC and non-ANC versions of the AirPods 4. So far, it seems like Best Buy is the retailer to pre-order from since it offers both trade-in value and some Apple subscriptions for free for new and returning customers.

  • Amazon: Much like Apple, Amazon is offering the AirPods 4 with ANC for $179 , while the non-ANC version is going for just $129 .
  • Best Buy: The best offer so far is from Best Buy. Even though the ANC version is going for $179 , and the non-ANC version is going for $129 , Best Buy offers up to $130 in trade-in credit, plus up to four months of Apple Arcade, up to three months of Apple music for new and returning users, up to three months of Apple TV+ for new and qualified returning users, and up to three months to Apple Fitness+ for new subscribers.
  • Walmart: With a similar deal to Apple and Amazon, you can snag the AirPods 4 with ANC for $179 and the non-ANC version for $129 .

Even though the AirPods Max haven’t gotten any substantial hardware updates, if you’re looking to pick up a new pair, you can pre-order one of the new colors directly from Apple. The new models come with USB-C charging ports to match the iPhone 15, 16, and new AirPods. The price hasn’t changed and sits at $549, and much like the AirPods 4, there are no trade-in options but you do get a free engraving.

Electronics, Mobile Phone, Phone

We're only a month away from Google's next big hardware event, with the Pixel 11 series officially arriving on August 12.

After living with the Pixel 10 Pro and the Pixel 10a over the past year, I've come to appreciate what Google's phones do well — and, more importantly, where they still fall short. With the smartphone landscape evolving faster than ever, there are three upgrades I'm hoping Google finally delivers this year. If you're a fellow Pixel user, chances are these are on your wishlist too.

Google may finally ditch Samsung’s modem in the Pixel 11, and Tensor G6 could be better for it
FCC paperwork for Google’s next foldable points to MediaTek, raising hopes for lower power use and a cleaner break from Tensor’s Exynos roots
AI recreation of Pixel 11's Pixel Glow feature.

Google may be preparing its biggest Tensor hardware split yet. As spotted by Android Authority, FCC testing for an unreleased foldable Google phone includes a reference to MediaTek radio-frequency software, adding weight to reports that the Pixel 11’s Tensor G6 could leave Samsung’s Exynos modem behind.

Every previous Tensor chip has used Samsung modem hardware. Changing suppliers won’t guarantee better battery life or reception, but it gives Google a fresh path after years of leaning on the same underlying technology.
