Bayonetta 2 busts some caps on Wii U this October, will include original Bayonetta

During the company’s E3 digital event, Nintendo revealed that Bayonetta 2, the Wii U-exclusive follow-up to 2010’s Bayonetta, will be released this October.

In addition to the narrowed release window, Nintendo also announced that the Platinum Games-developed game will include the original Bayonetta. The first game in the series was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Nintendo will also include several console-exclusive costumes, giving players the ability to dress Bayonetta up like Princess Peach, Link, or Samus Aran.

Bayonetta will also have the ability to pull off her signature hair-based attacks with Nintendo-themed variations.

After years of dashed dreams, Nintendo finally delivered the Direct event fans always dreamed of. The company was able to overcome historically overblown expectations and delivered a memorable E3 2021 presentation that saved an otherwise weak show. From Metroid to Wario, it felt like Nintendo obliged some of fans' loftiest expectations over the years. You know a Nintendo show went well when The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 wasn't even the biggest talking point when all was said and done.

E3 2021 was full of highs and lows, but if there's one thing that we can agree on it's that there were tons of spectacular trailers. While the gameplay and the games themselves are always the focus, there's no denying that a select few of this year's trailers were a cut above the rest.

These promotional videos have the very important job of giving viewers the best first impression possible in a few minutes -- sometimes seconds. While not every trailer worked (see the overly cheeky reveal of The Outer Worlds 2), others left us with plenty to chew on coming out of the four-day event.
