Check out our full review of the Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE smart phone.

It’s been a rough year for fans of physical keyboards. Nearly all phones have been dropping them in favor of larger screens, thinner profiles, and onscreen keyboards. Still, there’s nothing like a good QWERTY and nobody makes a phone keyboard as well as Motorola these days. The Droid 4 has one of the best keyboards we’ve ever used, a trait we’re hoping the newly Googly manufacturer will bring to its upcoming Motorola Photon Q for Sprint.

A number of sites including MobileBurn report that Sprint CEO Dan Hesse mentioned the Photon Q during Sprint’s quarterly investors call and said it is coming “very soon.”

Rumor has it that the Photon Q will have 4G LTE connectivity, a five-row QWERTY keyboard, a 720p HD screen, an 8-megapixel rear camera, NFC, global roaming, and run Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). From the looks of its FCC filing, the new device will retain the rounded corners of the original Motorola Photon, which is one of the more comfortable phones we’ve used — and also the only one that would look comfortable on the set of Battlestar Galactica.

Despite some lingering user interface issues, Motorola phones have been steadily improving. We recently reviewed the Atrix HD and found it to be one of the best

The OnePlus 12R is still one of 2024’s best smartphone deals
OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition in hand.

OnePlus is still quite new to me, as I was a lifelong iPhone user until I joined Digital Trends. However, OnePlus has a pretty solid reputation in the mobile world, and now I can see why, as the OnePlus 12 is one of my favorite smartphones that I’ve used so far this year.
