'Bloodline' is coming back for a third season as Netflix renews the family drama

There’s no longer any question as to whether Bloodline will get a third season — Netflix announced today that the Rayburn family drama has been renewed. Moving forward, fans can instead wonder: The Keys or not the Keys?

The Rayburns’ dark secrets have been the subject of the Netflix original series for two seasons so far, and what they’ve been hiding has been far from small. The dark series deals with drugs, trafficking, and homicide, including the season 1 murder of — spoiler alert — Danny Rayburn (played by Ben Mendelsohn) at the hands of his brother John (Kyle Chandler). The guilty brother spent season 2 coping with his actions and trying to hide the truth, but as things spiraled out of control at the end of the season, he took off.

The official Bloodline Twitter account shared an image that hinted at changes ahead. As in the finale, John is shown driving his truck toward a sign that says, “Now leaving the Keys.”

Bloodline season 3 will consist of 10 more episodes, reports Variety. The show’s creators-slash-executive producers, Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman, and Glenn Kessler, will again serve as directors.

“Todd, Daniel, and Glenn have created a riveting family saga featuring one of the most talented ensembles in the history of television. We can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds for the all-too-human Rayburns,” said Cindy Holland, Netflix’s VP of original content, according to Variety.

The skilled actors who play the Rayburns, living and dead, will be back as well, including Chandler, Mendelsohn, Sissy Spacek, Linda Cardellini, and Norbert Leo Butz. No release date has been revealed yet, but Netflix plans to premiere season 3 in 2017.

It's 2024, and some things haven't changed: the economy is great, people keep getting laid off at video game companies for no reason at all, the rich keep getting richer, and Netflix is still the streamer to beat. Netflix remains the primary destination for Oscar-nominated movies and exciting TV shows. With recent hit shows like The Fall of the House of Usher, the Emmy Award-winning Beef, and the true-crime docuseries American Nightmare, plus blockbuster movies like the Kevin Hart action comedy Lift and the real-life tragedy Society of the Snow, Netflix remains the top destination for audiences worldwide.

It's a new year, but some things remain the same: regrets about holiday spending, resolutions that will surely be broken, and the correct belief that there's too much stuff to watch on TV. Netflix continues to be the primary destination for streaming movies and TV shows for many people, with rivals Disney+ and Apple TV+ still trying to keep up. With recent hit shows like The Fall of the House of Usher, Suits, Squid Game: The Challenge, and blockbuster movies like Leave the World Behind and The Killer, Netflix promises to continue dominating in 2024.

Jacob Fortune-Lloyd in Bodies.

Thanks to its fairly unconventional premise, there are few shows exactly like Bodies. The new Netflix series, which follows four British detectives from different points in history who all find themselves investigating the same crime, is a fairly unique spin on the crime procedural.

As a result, finding shows that feel exactly like Bodies can be a bit challenging. Fortunately, we've pulled a few options together that should give you some of the same things that you liked so much about Bodies.
