As much as we love our furry friends, keeping areas in the house clean from their hair can be a tedious task. Fortunately, there are a multitude of robotic helpers available to rescue us in these hairy situations. A solid option would be the top-rated iRobot Roomba 960, and it’s currently discounted on Amazon and Walmart . Both retail giants are offering this model for only $499, a hefty 29% off its usual $699 price tag.

This bot combines the power of multiple technologies to effectively pull in embedded dirt, debris, and pet hair from wherever it hides. Its patented AeroForce Three-Stage Cleaning System uses tangle-free multi-surface rubber brushes and a power-lifting suction with five times more power than the older models, ensuring improved performance on both carpets and hard floors. It also has a high-efficiency filter rated to capture 99% of particles as small as 10 microns. With a low profile and an Auto-Adjust cleaning head, the robot can easily vacuum areas under furniture and adapt its height depending on the floor surface it’s cleaning.

Just like most Roomba models, the Roomba 960 boasts an Advanced Dirt Detect Technology that can identify concentrated areas of dirt. This allows the robot to provide deeper cleaning on spots that need it the most. It also comes with an iAdapt 2.0 Navigation technology with Visual Localization which helps navigate your home efficiently and keep track of its location, and smart sensors for guidance around furniture and against bumps and drop-offs. The robot can run continuously for up to 75 minutes and will recharge automatically through the dock until cleaning is complete.

Setting cleaning schedules and customized patterns are possible, all thanks to the iRobot Home app. This app lets you view clean reports, access tips, and more. You can also connect the robot to any Alexa or Google Assistant-enabled device to activate voice control.

The iRobot Roomba 960 hits the sweet spot between performance and affordability. We even tagged it as our favorite Roomba model for 2019. From dust bunnies and matted balls of fur to dust, allergens, and pollens, it does a great job of tackling a variety of messes. Order it today on Amazon or Walmart for a discounted price of $499.

Your cameras just got smarter, but so did Apple's upsell game.
Apple Home

I previously covered the new Apple Home AI features revealed at WWDC 2026, which include several quality-of-life improvements, including auto-updating notifications, smarter camera search, automatic tracking and stitching of multiple videos for a single event, and higher-resolution recordings, among others.

Like many Apple Home features, these features are only available to iCloud+ customers. However, at the event, Apple didn’t notify which plans will get access to these features. Today, we get the answer in the release notes of macOS Golden Gate beta 3, and you are not going to like it.

Apple did it first. Amazon is doing it now, starting with 40 million chips a year and a partner most people have never heard of.

Apple's decision to design its own chips reshaped the consumer electronics industry. Amazon may be about to make the same call, just about two decades later.

Supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reports that Amazon is preparing to shift away from externally sourced processors for its consumer electronics lineup, marking what he describes as the company's first major processor procurement change in 20 years. The transition is expected to begin in 2027.
