HP Victus — $480, was $800

The HP Victus 15 gaming laptop against a white backdrop.
HP

Budget gaming laptops are somewhat of a rarity in the below $500 price bracket, but this HP Victus not only manages that but is also relatively good. Running a GTX 1650 under the hood, you do sadly miss out on ray tracing, but that doesn’t mean the budget GPU isn’t good. Even better, the 15.6-inch 144Hz FHD won’t tax the GTX 1650 too much, so you should be able to play recent games at a relatively good setting, although the newest games might struggle a bit. Overall construction is also good, with very little flex in the keyboard for the price point, and even though you only get 8GB of RAM, you can upgrade it yourself with another 8GB stick for the added dual-channel performance, which we encourage. Overall, this might not be the best laptop, but it is one of the best Cyber Monday gaming laptop deals you’ll find for a budget gaming laptop.

Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 — $550, was $900

Lenovo

Moving up another notch and entering the RTX family, this Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 is an excellent choice if you have to have ray tracing while still staying on a tight budget. Running an RTX 3050 Ti, the IdeaPad Gaming 3 has a more impressive performance than the Victus, especially because it runs a similar FHD monitor, although running at 120Hz instead. That means you can bump the graphical settings even higher or, at least, get better frame rate performance from your game. The Ryzen 5 5600H CPU is roughly equivalent to an Intel Core i5 and is an excellent mid-range CPU that will give you a lot of versatility, from playing CPU-intense games to getting a variety of productivity work done. Again, you only get 8GB of RAM, which we encourage you to upgrade, and a 256GB SSD, which probably warrants grabbing one of these external hard drive deals, especially given how large games are these days.

Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 — $900, was $1,400

If you’re looking to game on a smaller laptop, then the Asus ROG Zephyrus is probably one of the best Cyber Monday gaming laptop deals you will run into. The 14-inch 144Hz FHD monitor might look cute compared to the bigger monitors on this list, but it hides a great power, namely an RTX 3060. At this point, you can easily start running newer games at higher graphical settings without too much of a hitch, and most free-to-play games will likely hit that 144Hz refresh rate without a problem. Asus also somehow manages to shove in an AMD Ryzen 7 5800HS, a high-end CPU that will allow you to stream to YouTube and Twitch or more core-intense work like audio editing. We also finally see 16GB of RAM, which we prefer to see on mid-range and higher gaming laptops, and the 512GB of SSD space is much better.

Alienware m15 R7 –$1,900, was $2,650

This Alienware m15 R7 is the real big game in town; with an RTX 3080 running under the hood, you won’t find many better Cyber Monday gaming laptop deals that include an RTX 3080, if at all. With so much power to work with, the 144Hz QHD can shine, and you may very well be able to play the latest games at the highest graphical settings, assuming that the M15 R7 doesn’t thermally throttle, which it shouldn’t in normal usage. You also get an equally powerful AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX, one of the best CPUs in the market, and it will easily blow most productivity and game tasks out of the market, making this the most versatile gaming laptop deal on the list. You also get 32GB of DDR5 RAM, the fastest in the market, and it can allow you to do slightly more complex editing work. Finally, you get a 1TB SSD that can store a large library of games.

Asus ROG Zephyrus M16 — $1,900, was $2,150

The second ROG Zephyrus on this list is as impressive as the Alienware m15 R7, and while it doesn’t have as powerful a graphics card — an RTX 3070 — it does have a larger screen. At 16 inches and with a 2560 x 1600 resolution, it sits in the best sweet spot for gaming laptop monitors, and not only that, but it runs the superior 19:10 aspect ratio, making this screen the best on the list. It also has a 165Hz refresh rate, which the RTX 3070 might not always be able to hit on the most modern games and highest settings, but at least it gives you room to work with. If that wasn’t enough, you get the 12th-gen Intel i9-12900H, one of the highest-end CPUs on the market, and much like the Alienware m15 R7, makes it incredibly versatile. Sadly, you don’t get 32GB of RAM, but at least the 16GB you get is DDR5, so it’s fast and not going to be something you notice if you don’t specifically need the higher RAM Capacity. Overall, we’d likely pick this as one of the best Cyber Monday gaming laptop deals if you want something that sits as close to perfect as possible.

Razer Blade 14 — $2,100, was $2,800

Of course, if you want a small screen with big specs, then the Razer Blade 14 can deliver them to you without any problems . . . except potentially running a little bit hot. We’re not sure how they managed, but the engineers over at Razer packed an RTX 3080 under the tiny hood of the Blade 14, providing it with a massive power boost. That means the 14-inch 165Hz QHD monitor can easily handle most modern games, even at higher settings. That said, the QHD resolution may be a bit of a waste for a small screen, so if you have to compromise in graphical settings, we’d bump the resolution down for the higher refresh rate. As for the CPU, you get the powerful AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX, like the last few entries, and 16GB of RAM, although they’re only DDR4. So, considering there are a lot of similarities between Blade 14 and the Zephyrus G14, we encourage you to take a look at our breakdown between the Razer Blade 14 vs. Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 so that you can see which specs work for your budget best.

Corsair Voyager — $2,200, was $2,800

The Voyager is an interesting laptop since it is Corsair’s first-ever gaming laptop. It’s pretty good, too, with an AMD Radeon RX 6800M, which is roughly equivalent to An RTX 3070 and can easily handle the 16-inch 240Hz QHD monitor. Granted, you’re not going to hit those high frame rates with most games, but if you’re into the big free-to-play games like CS:GO or League of Legends, you can probably get pretty close. The CPU is an AMD Ryzen R9 6900HS, one of the most powerful on the list, and you get a whopping 32GB of DDR5 RAM and a 2TB SSD to work with. So, is this better CPU, RAM, and storage worth the extra $300 and lower-end GPU than the m15 R7 worth it? That’s something you need to decide, but either way, it’s one of the better Cyber Monday deals if you want to go for it.

Aspire 1 -- $200, was $300

If you need something very basic just to get online and do some general productivity and day-to-day stuff, then the Acer Aspire 1 is a good budget option. It has a 15.6-inch screen with an FHD resolution, which is nice to see at this price point, and the screen bevels are actually relatively thin for a budget-oriented product. Of course, it does come with a lower-end Intel Celeron N4500 and only 4GB of RAM, which means Windows 11 is in the reduced S mode, but the lower spec does mean the price can stay really low too.

Best SSD deals: Samsung 990 Pro discounts
Samsung 990 PRO SSD over a dark background.

As recently as a decade ago, you would most likely be using an HDD, which tends to be quite slow and takes up an absolute tone of space, even the smaller form factor ones made for laptops. If you wanted something a bit more fancy, like a modern M.2 SSD, you'd be paying a huge premium even for smaller sizes like 256GB and 512GB. Luckily there have been huge leaps in technology and manufacturing, and these days you can get your hands on the best SSDs for a pretty good price. Not only does that mean that you can save space, but you can also load Windows and your applications a lot faster, something we expect to see in the best gaming PCs and gaming laptops.
Our favorite SSD deal

If you're looking for something that's top-of-the-line and won't break the bank, then the Samsung 990 PRO is probably the way to go. It has the newer PCIe 4.0 standard, which makes it a great PS5 SSD if you can get it a heatsink, and it has a read speed of 7450 Mbps and a write speed of 6900 Mbps, so it's lightning fast. The 2TB model here has been discounted down to just $190 from the original $250, so you're saving a pretty solid $60 in the process. There is a 1TB version that's cheaper if you don't think you need that much, as well as a 4TB model that's great for those who have a tendency to hoard data.
