JVC Launches Picsio Pocket CamCorders

Electronics maker JVC has announced its new Picsio pocket camcorder line, offering two models aimed at making it easy for consumers to shoot and share HD video. Both models can capture 1080p video at 30 frames per second, push high-definition content to TVs via HDMI, and offer 3-inch touchscreen displays—and, what’s more the Picsio GC-WP-10 is waterproof to depths of up to 10 feet.

Both the GC-FM2 and the GC-WP10 offer video image stabilization for smooth shooting, save video in MPEG4 format, and can shoot 5 megapixel still images. Both cameras can handle 1080p/30fps video recording, along with lower resolutions like 720/60p. The cameras have save material to SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards and work with Eye-Fi cards for wireless sharing; the GC-FM2 includes a slide-out USB connection for easy sideloading, while the WP10 can also record stereo MP3 audio while shooting. Both cameras also support time-lapse recording, so users can condense many hours into just a few minutes.

The cameras both work with Apple’s iMovie video editing software (comes with all Macs) and ship with LoiLoScope EX for Windows video editing software for Windows, which includes easy uploading to YouTube and Facebook.

Fixed focus and digital-only zoom are sure to frustrate anyone looking to shoot their high-def digital movie opus, but for consumers looking to capture family outings and other impromptu events, the Picsio recorders might be a good choice. JVC says the Picsio GC-FM2 will be available early next month for a suggested price of $179.95; the GC-Wp10 will be available in late September for a suggested price of !99.95.

How to transfer photos from an iPhone to an iPhone

We all love making memories, and a great way to collect those memories is to take a quick snap of a gorgeous landscape, a party in full swing, or a particularly incredible meal. It's a fun little addition, and it's one that adds a lot of personality to the Photos app.
