Capcom announces Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

For those that went out and purchased Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds and have played it to the point of insanity—and there are plenty of you out there—there’s some good news and bad. The good news is that Capcom is working on 12 new characters, 8 new stages, and some technical refinements to both the fighting and the online side, including the introduction of a spectator mode to watch fights with other gamers. All together this will push the total characters to 50 (including the downloadable characters).

The bad news is that these additions will not be available online as DLC, rather they will be part of the new retail package that will be released in November for $39.99. But if you didn’t originally purchase the original Marvel vs. Capcom 3, or if you play the game enough that another $40 won’t bother you, then huzah!

So far Capcom has only released the names of four of the 12 characters: Capcom’s Strider and Firebrand (from Ghosts ‘n Goblins), and Marvel’s Hawkeye and Ghost Rider. So who are the other eight characters? Will we have to wait weeks or months as Capcom slowly unveils each new character leading up to the release in November? No, of course not. This is the internet, so naturally all eight characters have been leaked.

Now, the double edged sword of the internet is that these could all be fake; some wild and perfectly timed hoax by someone with too much time on their hands. But since the original source was Capcom’s press website, which briefly displayed the new artwork before quickly taking it down, it is a safe bet that it is solid. The remaining eight characters will be: Capcom’s Frank West, Nemesis (Resident Evil), Phoneix Wright and Vergil (Devil May Cry). On Marvel’s side will be Dr. Strange, Iron Fist, Nova and Rocket Raccoon. No, seriously. You can see the original artwork at neogaf.com.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be available on PS3 and Xbox 360 for $39.99.

After a ten-year hiatus, the Marvel Ultimate Alliance series is about to make its grand return. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch on July 19. It's the first Marvel game to be published by Nintendo and one of the rare Marvel games to release for a major console, despite the popularity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. From the ridiculously robust roster of heroes to the familiar but new story to gameplay, here's everything we know about the cooperative-focused Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3.

MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3: The Black Order | E3 2019 Trailer

Like recent Marvel movies, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 revolves around the Infinity Stones and a familiar foe: The Mad Titan Thanos. Similarly to the movies, Ultimate Alliance 3 uses The Infinity Gauntlet storyline as inspiration. But this is an original story, taking place in a different universe than the previous two entries in the series and unrelated to the movies. That means you can enjoy it without existing knowledge of either the first two games or the most recent movies.

3 things I want in Fallout 5 after watching Amazon’s Fallout series
Lucy enters a house in Fallout.

Fallout has been the watercooler TV show this month, an impressive feat for a video game adaptation. Although Bethesda doesn't have any new Fallout games to release alongside it, the Amazon Prime series has reinvigorated interest in Fallout, with all its titles seeing notable player count increases. For now, we’ll have to be content with a Fallout 4 current-gen upgrade, but I’ll admit that my mind is drifting to thinking about Fallout 5.

Bethesda’s Todd Howard has teased that Fallout 5 will be the next project Bethesda Game Studios works on after Elder Scrolls 6. While that likely means its release is at least a decade away unless Bethesda fast-tracks it, I still find it fun to theorize about where a true single-player Fallout 5 could go next. These three particular things are what I want to see the most.
