Fallout: New Vegas Gun Runners’ Arsenal DLC detailed by Bethesda

A bunch of people on my Xbox 360 Friends list are back to playing Fallout: New Vegas, thanks largely to last week’s release of the Lonesome Road DLC pack, which is to be the final story-expanding DLC release for New Vegas.

They’re all a bunch of suckers.

Tomorrow, Bethesda Softworks is releasing another DLC pack for New Vegas. Unlike Lonesome Road and its three predecessors, this Gun Runners’ Arsenal pack in no way relates to the story. Instead, it’s all about weapons. Many, many, many weapons. Oodles of them. All types too. Bethesda has detailed many of them in a series of four blog posts (check them out here, here, here and here) and there’s still one more to come! The last post will run tomorrow, just as the DLC is going up online for download on your digital delivery storefront of choice.

You can get the whole, massive pack for 320 MS Point or $3.99 starting tomorrow, September 27. Of course, if you’ve already sped through Lonesome Road and the rest of the DLC after finishing the game, the many new toys aren’t going to do you a ton of good.

Bethesda’s Fallout 76 subscription plan costs an eyebrow-raising $100 per year

Fallout 76 launched last November to a pretty dismal reception, with critics lamenting the lack of story incentive for quests and general lack of polish -- even for a Bethesda game. Since then, the company has been making strides to improve the experience with several content updates, but that goodwill may have been eliminated with the new "Fallout 1st" subscription plan.

Announced on October 23, Fallout 1st is a $100-a-year subscription-based service that gives its members access to several benefits not available to others. These include the ability to play on a private world with only your friends, unlimited storage space in the Scrapbox, a Survival Tent for fast traveling, monthly Atoms, an exclusive outfit, and extra icons and emotes. Special sales not available to other players will also appear periodically.

Fallout 76 Patch 11 will make it easier for new players to survive the Wasteland

The next patch for Fallout 76, which is expected to roll out in mid-July, will include updates to make it easier for new and low-level characters to survive the Wasteland.

In an Inside the Vault blog post, Bethesda previewed the contents of Patch 11. One of the highlights is the planned adjustments for a more gradual introduction of mechanics and challenges to players who are just starting out with the game.

3 Xbox Game Pass games you need to play this weekend (May 3-5)

Another weekend is upon us, and you're probably looking for some games to kill time with over the course of it. We're in a bit of a lull right now ahead of a flurry of releases starting next week, so it's a great time to dip back into the Xbox Game Pass catalog and check out some games that you may have missed. There are three games in particular that I think you should check out this weekend if you're looking for something to play.

One is an unsettling adventure that's getting an Xbox-exclusive sequel later this month. The next is a finely animated roguelike indie that recently made its way to Microsoft's gaming subscription service. Finally, there's a relaxing adventure that gives players a lot of freedom, yet is short enough to beat in a weekend. If you're having trouble deciding what to play this weekend, give one of these games a shot.
