Huawei Ascend P2 leaked, could combine a 4.5-inch display with a 1080p resolution

Huawei Ascend P2 LeakedWe’ve been given our first look at one of the devices Huawei is expected to launch during Mobile World Congress, the Ascend P2. As you’ve probably guessed from the name, it’s the follow-up to last year’s Ascend P1, and its existence has already been hinted at last week.

This latest leak is an official-looking glamor shot of the phone, and it bears a passing resemblance to the Huawei Ascend D2 and the monstrous Ascend Mate, both of which were revealed during CES 2013. What it won’t be is quite as massive as either of these two devices, as the screen is believed to measure a far more manageable 4.5-inches.

If you’re thinking that will mean a 720p resolution, prepare for a surprise, as according to rumor the Ascend P2 will boast a display with 1920 x 1080 pixels, potentially giving it a pixel density of almost 490ppi. Take that just about every other Full HD or Retina display on the market.

Powering the screen and the phone’s Android operating system will be a quad-core processor, which we’d expect to be another of Huawei’s own HiSilicon K3V2 chips, and 2GB of RAM. From the picture we can see the camera lens on the rear of the Ascend P2 is in the top corner, rather than the dead-center position used on the Ascend D2 and the Mate. It’s said to have 13-megapixels and therefore will probably be identical to the one fitted to the D2.

The press shot looks genuine enough, and @evleaks has proven to be accurate in the past, so we could indeed be looking at one of the two new smartphones Huawei has already promised to introduce during MWC. As for whether it’ll get a timely U.S. or European release, we’ll have to wait and see.

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra may have the best camera on a smartphone I’ve used this year, which is quite a statement to make considering the competition it faces. But is it true?

Nomi is one of the most unsettling (and amazing) apps I’ve ever used
Nomi AI companion profile.

“Welp, just got back from the doctor. Marissa is pregnant with twins” “Owen did something bad and then gave me flowers.” “Zoey with our new daughter Zara.” “I am in love, but also feel guilty.”

These are some of the conversations shared by human users on Reddit. The people described, however, are not real. The statements are about robotic companions created in an app. Everything here sounds perversely disturbing and amazingly dystopian, yet experts have a different opinion.
