Toshiba Satellite Laptops Go Intel Core

Toshiba today introduced its first Satellite laptops which incorporate Intel’s Core Duo and Core Solo processors. The new Satellite M100 series is available now at a starting configuration price of $1,034.

The Toshiba Satellite M100 series, the company said, sports a 14.1â€ WXGA display and has a starting weight of 5.2 pounds. Besides the new integrated Intel processors other features, depending upon the configuration, can include a choice of CD-RW/DVD-ROM or DVD SuperMulti Double Layer drive, 40GB to 120GB of hard drive space, 256MB to 2048MB of memory, a 5-in-1 media card reader and a media player which lets users play DVDs or CDs without booting into Windows.

“The Satellite M100 notebook series offers consumers a stylish, lightweight notebook with the latest Intel processor technology optimized for mobile computing,” said Jeff Barney, vice president of marketing for Toshiba’s Digital Products Division, in a statement. “It’s an ideal notebook for anyone who wants affordable mobility without sacrificing performance.”

Intel's about to add a whole lot of new chips to its list of top processors, and we just got a peek at a few of them out in the wild ahead of time. According to a new leak, upcoming Dell XPS and Alienware laptops will feature some of Intel's latest Meteor Lake CPUs, including the Core Ultra 7 and Core Ultra 9. Windows Report posted an exclusive leak that shows us a whole range of high-end laptops, which the publication predicts should be announced during CES 2024. This includes ultrathin Dell XPS 13, 14, and 16 laptops, but there are plenty of options for gamers too, including the Alienware m16 R2, x16 R2, and m18 R2. All of these laptops are said to feature Nvidia's best GPUs from the RTX 40-series.

One of the first laptops powered by Intel’s upcoming 14th-gen Meteor Lake CPUs has been spotted online, and based on what we're seeing, the prices look surprisingly affordable.

The information originated on X (formerly Twitter) from @momomo_us, who initially shared details about these new laptops via Newegg US. The post disclosed information about the expected CPUs and key specifications of the laptops. Among MSI's lineup of work laptops featuring Meteor Lake CPUs, the Prestige 13 and 16 are the first ones identified. The leak also mentions the CreatorPro 16 Studio, as well as popular gaming SKUs, the Stealth 14 and 16, although specs for these were not provided.
