Some companies are taking Tesla CEO Elon Musks’ Hyperloop concept, an idea that aims to provide high-speed travel with the use of tubes, and are absolutely running with it. Hyperloop Transportation Technologies Inc. is one of those companies, and they’re saying that Hyperloop is far from a pipe dream.

Patricia Galloway, who leads Hyperloop Transportation Technologies Inc., told Fox News that ““The feasibility is done. What we’re working on now is moving toward conceptual design.”

On the Jump Start Fund page for Hyperloop Transportations Technologies Inc., there’s an entire road map laid out which briefly describes the company’s goals over the next couple of years and when they hope to achieve them.

For instance, between now and mid-2014, Hyperloop Transportations Technologies Inc. expects to be knee-deep in untangling legal issues, fundraising and design development. By June 2, 2014, the firm says that they will release a prototype design for bid and construction. Hyperloop Transportation Technologies Inc. plans for prototype development and continued fundraising to dominate the calender between June 30, 2014 and December 28 of that year. Finally, the end of this road map culminates with Hyperloop demo events, which are scheduled to take place during the first quarter of 2015.

To say that Galloway is pretty confident in Hyperloop’s potential to reshape the way we move from one destination to another would be an understatement. She told Fox News that Hyperloop would be “similar to what the Concorde did for air transport.”

No small words to be sure. If the plan laid out by Hyperloop Transportation Technologies Inc. doesn’t encounter any major speed bumps, it won’t be long before we get to see whether Hyperlook can sink or swim.
