Initially, the new Mac Pro’s ship date was set for December. Then, it was pushed back to an unspecified date in February. After that, it got shoved to March.

Now, Apple has apparently delayed shipments of the Mac Pro to April here in the US, as well as overseas.

The new April ship date applies to the US, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Shipments of both stock models and custom configurations are subject to the delay as well. Initial reports only indicated a delay for international customers. However, we shot over to the Mac Pro page on the US Apple Store site to check if domestic consumers would also be affected. Sure enough, the Mac Pro’s shipping date is now listed as April here in the states as well.

We can’t help but be reminded of the delay suffered by Apple and its iMac all-in-one desktop back in 2012. Apple CEO Tim Cook later expressed regret with respect to the decisions that led to the holdup with the 2012 iMac. Here’s what he said about the incident during a January 2013 conference call: “If we could run it over frankly, I would have announced the iMac after the turn of the year, because we felt our customers had to wait too long for that specific product.”

This new Mac Pro shipping delay will no doubt frustrate consumers who were eagerly awaiting the mysterious-looking desktop’s initial late-December arrival. An exact date for April Mac Pro shipments has not been revealed.
