What’s happened? Spotify has introduced Listening Stats, a weekly snapshot feature that shows your top artists and songs from the past four weeks. In addition to that, you also get playlists tailored to what you love and what you might discover next.
- Available to both Free and Premium users across over 60 markets.
- The stats refresh every 24 hours and include a “special highlight” like a milestone, new discovery, or fan moment.
- You can also share a weekly snapshot of your Listening Stats to social apps like Instagram or WhatsApp.
- You’ll find the feature under your profile image > Listening Stats tab. There’s also an option to create a playlist based on your recent favorite songs.

This is important because: You don’t have to wait for Spotify’s annual recap like Wrapped. With Listening Stats, you get a mini-recap every week of your favorite music.
- You can be more aware of patterns: maybe you’ve been replaying an old favourite on loop, or discovering a new genre.
- It fine-tunes Spotify’s algorithm to match your current energy by tracking what you’re into right now and feeding you music that fits your mood.
Why it matters? With this new feature, Spotify can do more frequent taste check-ins. That means:
- Users get immediate feedback on what they listened to this week, not just in December.
- It gives you cues to update your playlists (like daylist, Release Radar, Discover Weekly) based on what kind of music you are currently into.
- The shareable format makes your music snapshot become part of your online identity.
OK, what’s next?
- Artists can benefit from weekly visibility if sharing creates micro-viral moments (think a song trending in a week, not just yearly hits).
- We can expect Spotify to add longer-term trends (3-month, 6-month) next, which is a good way to track the shift in your listening habits.
