No matter whether you’re a professional photographer or an amateur enthusiast, when you’re heading out for a photo-walk or packing your gear for a trip, the most important accessory is a bag that fits all your stuff. What a camera bag or backpack needs to be is comfortable and spacy, but we don’t mind if it also looks nice.

That’s exactly what Venque, a camera bag manufacturer based in Toronto, Canada, is hoping to achieve with its new DSLR CamPro backpack. With the input from many photographers, Venque set out to create a backpack that is comfortable to carry, offers a lot of space, is versatile enough to be suited for both photography and general use, and is nice to look at, to boot.

The DSLR CamPro backpack, which is currently being crowdfunded via Kickstarter, is made of high-quality materials including genuine leather and a Venque-exclusive fabric called “Quanta.” The fabric is said to be not only water and dust repellent, but also highly durable. Venque is so convinced of the quality of the materials they use, that they offer each Kickstarter backer a 10-year warranty.

Thanks to its multi-compartment design, the DSLR CamPro backpack can hold a full camera kit including up to two cameras, six lenses, accessories such as a small tripod, flashes, memory cards, and batteries, plus a laptop or an iPad; store a pared-down camera setup plus some of your daily essentials; or be used as a general-purpose rucksack for hiking trips, camping, or traveling.

The backpack’s lower compartment is equipped with a customizable padded grid that helps keep your equipment in place, while the upper compartment can be fitted with loose items such as accessories that aren’t easily prone to damage. In addition, there is a laptop pouch on the back, as well as extra pouches on the front and at the sides.

The back of the DSLR CamPro is padded for carrying comfort, just like the two shoulder straps that can be fitted with special weight transfer buckles which, according to Venque, will help transfer up to 30 percent of the bag’s weight off your back. On top of all that, the backpack comes with a built-in raincover that protects it from severe weather. In many ways, the descriptions remind us of Booq’s Python backpack, although you get a bit more of a unique styling here.

The Venque DSLR CamPro backpack is available in black and grey, and for the remainder of the crowdfunding period both can be had for CAD $149. As soon as the backpacks become regular items in Venque’s product portfolio, they will retail for CAD $219. Venque expects to be able to ship products to backers by late September 2014.

How to transfer photos from an iPhone to an iPhone

We all love making memories, and a great way to collect those memories is to take a quick snap of a gorgeous landscape, a party in full swing, or a particularly incredible meal. The Apple iPhone now also adds a location to your pictures, meaning it can collate those images together into a location-themed album, or show you all the shots you've taken in a specific location. It's a fun little addition, and it's one that adds a lot of personality to the Photos app.
