J.K. Rowling has returned to the world of Harry Potter that she created for a new short story that reunites her former boy-wizard hero — now an adult — with his old friends and allies from Hogwarts, the school that brought them all together.

Posted on the series’ official website Pottermore.com, the 1,500-word story is set at the Quidditch World Cup, and is framed as a report on the event by “Rita Skeeter,” a gossip columnist for the fictional newspaper The Daily Prophet who appeared in multiple books. In her report, Skeeter describes the reunion of Harry with his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger — now married with children of their own — as well as fellow former classmates Luna Lovegood and Neville Longbottom. Harry is described as having “threads of silver” in his hair and a mysterious scar above his cheek. He’s accompanied by his wife, Ginny (Ron’s sister), and their children.

The short story arrives online seven years after the publication of the final novel in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which hit shelves in July 2007 and went on to sell 11 million copies in 24 hours.

Rowling has written a series of brief stories set during the Quidditch World Cup for Pottermore.com, but this is the first one that directly involved her famous characters and offered some indication of what they’ve been up to since the events of The Deathly Hallows. Her final article — a report on the championship Quidditch match between Brazil and Bulgaria — will be posted to the site July 11 ahead of the real-world World Cup’s final, which occurs July 13.

Juventus vs Milan live stream: Can you watch for free?
Massive open air soccer stadium with a game in play.

Juventus and Milan clash in a Top-3 Serie A showdown today at Allianz Stadium. Though the stakes are considerably lower now that Inter have officially claimed this season's Scudetto, this is still a compelling matchup between two of Italy's premier sides.

This one is starting very soon, at 12:00 p.m. ET. It will stream exclusively on Paramount+ in the United States, but we've found a handful of different ways you can watch the match live online for free.

Netflix is streaming the craziest action movie of 2024. Here’s why I loved it
A man floating in air kicks another man in the face in City Hunter.

This month seems to be the time to release action movies that color outside the lines. We've already had Dev Patel's Monkey Man, a messy, throw-everything-at-the-wall action movie that blends intricate fight sequences and on-the-nose social commentary in an entertaining package that will surely gain cult status in the near future. Just this weekend, Boy Kills World dished out loads of cartoon violence and over-the-top gore in a bid for John Wick-level fandom. Both movies bend or break the rules of reality to deliver quickly cut fight scenes that push the boundaries of the genre, all in an attempt to one-up the high standards set by the best movies in the Mission: Impossible and Fast and Furious franchises.

Yet the best of the April bunch is the one that has the lowest profile. City Hunter doesn't star anyone you'd recognize like It actor Bill Skarsgård in Boy Kills World and hasn't been backed by an extensive marketing campaign like Universal's Monkey Man. But the movie is a blast; it's like putting Pop Rocks in a can of Mountain Dew and chasing it down with a couple of Pixy Sticks. It's ludicrous, immature, and totally unrealistic. It's also my favorite action movie of 2024. Here's why you need to stream City Hunter pronto.
It's an adaptation of a massively popular franchise
