Apparently, I underestimated the power of the dark side. Vilner doesn’t mess around.
The company released a new batch of teaser photos for the empirical BMW this week, and they show a small squadron of soldiers dramatically defending the convertible BMW from an unseen enemy.

The convertible sports car features new headlights, custom bumpers front and rear, a redesigned hood, slick black alloys, a performance exhaust, and tons of other rebellion-fighting tweaks. In one photo, there’s even an appearance from the Dark Lord himself, Darth Vader. His TIE fighter must be in the shop.
Vilner’s engineers clearly did their homework in designing the car. The vents on the front fenders, for instance, mimic the air filters on either side of the soldier’s storied helmet, and the wide-mouthed front fascia pays homage to the shock trooper’s iconic frown.
Inside, the open-air cabin is dressed in two-tone brown leather with carbon fiber accents aplenty. I’ll venture a guess that the Stormtrooper helmet you see on the passenger seat is not included.
The intergalactic 6 Series is based off the aquatically themed Bullshark BMW that Vilner released last year. That car was powered by a AC Schnitzer-tuned version of the second-generation’s 4.4-liter V8, which produced 370 horsepower and 385 pound-feet of torque. For comparison’s sake, the stock motor made 333 hp and 332 lb-ft.
Expect similar output from the Stormtrooper, which should come close to the Bullshark’s 0 to 60 mph time of 5.4 seconds. Vilner says more details are coming soon, so stay tuned.
