While the core cast of The Avengers has been confirmed for a return in the upcoming sequel Avengers: Age Of Ultron, there’s been no shortage of speculation regarding who else from Marvel’s cinematic universe will appear in the film. In a recent interview, however, Thor actor Idris Elba indicated that the residents of Asgard will be well represented.

“I’m in Avengers,” Elba told The Telegraph while discussing his upcoming range of in-progress projects across television, movies, music, and various other media. “And I’m doing a scene with Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston.”

Elba played Heimdall, the all-seeing guardian of the bridge to other realms in both Thor and its sequel, Thor: The Dark World, but his character has yet to make an appearance outside the primary Thor franchise films. Hiddleston’s trickster god Loki, on the other hand, was the primary villain in both Thor and The Avengers, and played a significant supporting role in Thor: The Dark World.

In addition to their return in Age Of Ultron, both actors are expected to reprise their roles for the recently announced third film in the Thor franchise, Thor: Ragnarok.

Avengers: Age Of Ultron hits theaters May 1, 2015, and along with the return of Elba and Hiddleston, the film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, James Spader (as the voice of Ultron), Cobie Smulders, Thomas Kretschmann, Paul Bettany, and Stellan Skarsgard.

A still from Dark Matter (2024) on Apple TV

Some of the best series on Apple TV have earned great reviews, yet none of them get talked about nearly as much as they deserve. That's why I have included three different genres in this weekend's binge list, which is based on a bestselling sci-fi novel, a beloved wine manga, and a true-crime memoir. The best part is that each one of these shows manages to outdo its source material's reputation on the screen.

We also have guides to the best new movies to stream, the best movies on Netflix, the best movies on Hulu, the best free movies, and the best movies on Amazon Prime Video.
