Camped out in front of a Best Buy location in Beaumont, California since November 5, Juanita Salas of Beaumont and Vickey Torres of Cabazon have spent the last week sitting in front of the retail electronics store in hopes of landing some excellent doorbuster deals by the time Thanksgiving arrives in a couple weeks. Detailed by the CBS affiliate in Las Vegas, this is something of an annual event for the two ladies. This year, both ladies are hoping to land a heavily discounted price on a HDTV.

When asked why they were already in line, Torres saidWe could have started later, but then we wouldn’t be sure to get first in line. They only get a few items at the cheaper prices and it’s first come, first served.” In order to hold the first position in line, the two women have been trading off holding the number one spot when one of them needs to go home, shower, use the restroom or grab some food.

Regarding their quest for new HDTVs, they just may be in luck. The top doorbuster deal in Best Buy’s Black Friday flyer is a 50-inch, 1080p Panasonic LED HDTV for a low price of $199. While the television is only 60Hz and lacks smart features as well as 3D playback, the fact that the set is a reputable brand-name and rated favorably by the Best Buy community bodes well for the retailer this year.

Interestingly, Best Buy is also attempting aggressive pricing on the opposite end of the spectrum, a Samsung Ultra HD television set. Shattering through Vizio’s aggressive price of $1000 for a Ultra HD set, Samsung’s UN55HU6950FXZA 55-inch 4K Ultra HD set will be priced at $899 when the doors open up on Thanksgiving evening.

I review turntables for a living — this is the entry-level deck to get on Black Friday
The Audio-Technica AT-LP60BT-USB turntable on a coffee table.

Like a lot of vinyl collectors, I've spent a marriage-threatening amount of time and money obsessing over my records. But joining the Digital Trends AV team a couple of years ago really blew the lid off one of my other obsessions -- turntables. And just like when I began reviewing them, you have to start somewhere when deciding on what entry-level turntable is going to get you started on your vinyl adventure.

I get asked about this a lot, and it just so happens that there's a pretty good Black Friday deal on one of the best entry-level turntables you can buy -- the Audio-Technica AT-LP60BT-USB, which is going for $199, a decent $80 off its regular price of $279.

Why you should buy the RayNeo Air 2 AR glasses for Black Friday

Even the cost of an 80-inch OLED would be three to four times the cost of these AR glasses at their regular price. That's without factoring in the sheer portability of these AR glasses, which you can take anywhere and everywhere. It's like carrying a 201-inch OLED TV in your pocket or bag, which you can set up instantly indoors and out. While having a picnic, you can throw on a movie. At a local coffee shop, you can play some games. At your family's house for the holidays, you can play or watch whatever you want, on a massive screen, without bothering anyone else.
