Gione’s W900 shows us what an Android flip phone with two 1080p displays looks like

If the name Gionee rings any bells, that’s because it’s the Chinese handset maker behind the ultra-thin Elife S5.1 and S5.5, which, at the time of their announcements, set world records for thinnest smartphone. However, with the W900, Gionee quit its ambitions for the world’s thinnest smartphone and now has its eyes set on the world’s first smartphone with two 1080p displays.

The W900 packs internal and external displays, both measuring 4 inches on the diagonal with 1920 x 1080 resolutions. This adds up to a pretty intense pixel density of 550ppi. Designed much like Samsung’s Android flip phones, the W900 is powered by a quad-core 1.5GHz processor that is coupled with 2GB of RAM. You’l find a 13-megapixel camera on the back, while selfies can be taken with the 5-megapixel front-facing camera. A 2050mAh battery should keep the handset powered all day.

Unfortunately, much like the Samsung Android flip phones, the W900 is unlikely to land on U.S. shores anytime soon. Still, it’s fun to look at, isn’t it?

If you’ve slept through an important meeting or missed your alarm lately, it may not be entirely your fault if you’re an iPhone user. For weeks now, iPhone users have been reporting on social media that their devices are no longer ringing.

Today, The Wall Street Journal’s Joanna Stern finally confirmed this. According to Stern, Apple has confirmed that it’s aware of the issue causing some alarms not to play a sound and is working on a fix.

The iPhone alarm problem seems to be tied to Apple’s Attention Aware features. For those unfamiliar, it’s a feature that lowers the volume sound of your alerts and alarms if you’re looking at your device and avoids dimming the screen, similar to how Samsung phones keep the screen on if they see you looking at your screen.
