Marvel’s man without fear, Daredevil, prowls Netflix in April

Marvel’s long-awaited Daredevil series on Netflix finally has an official premiere date, with the streaming service announcing the show’s arrival along with those of several other programs either being renewed or premiering this year.

Fans eagerly awaiting the debut of Charlie Cox as blind crime-fighter Matt Murdock will be able to watch all 13 episodes of the series beginning April 10, 2015. As with previous Netflix-produced series, the entire season will be available to watch on the premiere date — meaning that there will likely be quite a bit of binge-watching happening that day.

Marvel and Netflix also released a “motion poster” for the series featuring a glimpse at the sights and sounds of Daredevil’s turf emblazoned with the superhero’s logo, as well as a standard poster.

Also starring Rosario Dawson, Vincent D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, and Elden Henson, Daredevil follows an attorney who lost his sight as a child, only to gain other superhuman senses in the same accident. He fights crime in the courtroom by day, but at night he patrols his New York City neighborhood of Hell’s Kitchen as the costumed hero known as Daredevil.

Steven S. DeKnight (Spartacus), Jeph Loeb (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), and Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods) are executive producers for the series, with Goddard also having written and directed the first episode.

It's not a surprise to find out that Netflix has been dominating in 2024. From hit shows like The Gentlemen with Theo James to popular movies like Damsel with Millie Bobby Brown, the streamer has put out an impressive lineup of original programming that crosses almost every genre and boasts popular stars, both young and old.

While its April programming schedule will have comparatively fewer titles than in the last few months, Netflix still has an intriguing selection that is sure to interest anyone with a taste for adventure and mystery. There's another adaptation of The Talented Mr. Ripley, a French thriller set in a snowy mountain range, and a comic book adaptation from the fanciful mind of Neil Gaiman.

Everything coming to Netflix in April 2024
Two boys sit in an office in Dead Boy Detectives.

March is almost over, and while it didn't win a lot of Oscars this year, Netflix is still a winner in terms of popularity. That's primarily due to its diverse slate of hits and critically acclaimed movies and shows, which range from The Gentlemen, Guy Ritchie's action-comedy series, to Damsel, a fantasy movie starring Millie Bobby Brown.

Netflix plans to maintain its dominance with its April programming slate, the best yet this year. The month starts with a bang with the premiere of Ripley, a new limited series that adapts the popular novel and 1999 movie The Talented Mr. Ripley, and the debut of Scoop, a drama based on the real-life scandal involving Prince Andrew's controversial interview with the BBC. The month ends with the highly anticipated adaptation of the popular Neil Gaiman comic book series Dead Boy Detectives and the second part of Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon films. Check the list below for everything coming to Netflix in April 2024.
