The upcoming Steve Jobs biopic that’s been mired in production problems and casting changes over the last few years appears to rolling along now, with filming taking place at the same garage where Jobs and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak built the first Apple computer.

CBS San Francisco has a report on the production that’s taken over the neighborhood around 2066 Crist Drive in Los Altos, California, the former home of Jobs’ parents and the place where the Apple co-founders built the very first model of the computer that would eventually make them famous. Shooting on the film — which is based on a script penned by Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing) — is expected to continue around San Francisco through April.

As the report mentions, this is the second film to shoot at that location in recent years, with the underperforming 2013 biopic Jobs also staging several scenes at the famous garage, which has become a mecca of sorts for Apple devotees over the years.

The upcoming film featured quite a bit of casting and directorial turnaround before settling on Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle and stars Michael Fassbender and Seth Rogen. Fassbender will play Jobs in the film, with Rogen playing Wozniak.

Sorkin’s script for the film is based on Walter Isaacson’s 2011 biography of Jobs. The biopic has no release date or official title at this point.

Netflix has generally weathered the aftermath of the 2023 Hollywood strikes better than its streaming rivals. However, Netflix's lineup in May looks significantly weaker than in the recent past. There's a distinct lack of blockbuster movies from other studios. Even Netflix's original series are slowing down this month. The most significant arrival is Bridgerton season 3, and Netflix is splitting that season into two parts, making fans wait until June to get some closure.

There are other highlights, including Jerry Seinfeld's Unfrosted, Blood of Zeus, and the complete run of the animated spy comedy Archer. But compared to the shows and movies that Netflix had earlier in 2024, it's really lackluster.
