One family’s exceptionally diverse car collection is going to auction

The father and son team of Paul and Chris Andrews have partnered with RM auctions to find a home for three-quarters of their excellent classic car collection. The 100-strong collection is as varied as it is exceptional, from vintage american pickups to exotic European sports cars.

Carefully researched and preserved collection was a shared hobby between the two family members, the senior a successful entrepreneur and the younger Andrews a businessman artist. As for why they wished to pair down the collection, it was a matter of preference. “We want to get down to a smaller number of cars – perhaps 15 to 20 – that we very much enjoy driving and that we can use on events with the family. There are a number of events we’d still like to try overseas and here in the United States, and in order to do that, we need to focus on a more manageable collection,” says Chris.

Among the collection can be found a variety of different examples of automotive history, such as a 1963 Shelby 289 Competition Cobra, Lamborghini Countach, and a ’67 Toyota Fj45 Land Cruiser pickup. All the vehicles going to the auction block will be offered without reserve, going home and joining the collections of the highest bidders.

The auction is scheduled for early May, being held in Fort Worth, TX. Lots being sold from the stunning and diverse collection can be seen on RM’s site.

The front three-quarter view of a 2022 Rivian against a rocky backdrop.

Rivian has finally unveiled the R2, its long-awaited attempt at a more affordable electric SUV. The new vehicle may not be available just yet, but fans of Rivian's design aesthetics and feature set are already looking forward to being able to order the new car. The R2 is targeted at being a more affordable take on the electric SUV and will sit alongside the flagship-tier R1S.

Let's get this out of the way right now: The R1S is most likely going to be a better vehicle than the R2. Rivian isn't replacing the R1S with the R2 — it's releasing the R2 as a more affordable alternative, and there will be some compromises when buying the R2 over the R1S.

Don’t let the gimmicks fool you. The Ioniq 5 N is a serious track car
2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N drifting.

We’re finally getting to the fun part of automakers’ methodical quest to replicate their lineups with electric cars.

Performance versions of ordinary cars have been a staple of the auto industry for decades. But while we’ve already seen some variants of EVs boasting more power and more impressive stats — think Tesla Model S Plaid or Lucid Air Sapphire — the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is the first to truly apply that format to an EV.
