Matt Damon proves that he never stops fighting in new TV spot for The Martian

With all the trailers, promos and viral videos floating around for Ridley Scott’s The Martian, we feel like we’ve seen half the film already. That being said, virtually every glimpse of the anticipated new film has knocked our socks off, and the new “Never Stop Fighting” TV spot keeps that trend going.

Released by 20th Century Fox on Monday, the bite-sized spot (embedded above) is packed with drama and focuses on Astronaut Mark Watney’s (Matt Damon) single-minded quest to survive and return to Earth.

The spot begins with chaotic shots of the (and this is not a spoiler, so you’ll get no alert) Ares 3 disaster as we hear Matt Damon say “my team must have thought I was dead. But, I’m alive. Surprise!”

The rest of the video is pretty much harrowing space travel, interspersed with shots of Matt Damon going all Bear Grylls on the Red Planet. As the the 30-second spot plays out, we hear Damon’s disembodied voice once again, delivering his manifesto  “No matter what happens, tell the world, tell my family, that I never stopped fighting, to make it home.”

If this trailer doesn’t give you the feels, you are A.) Not a movie fan B.) Not a Sci-Fi fan C.) Not a Matt Damon fan or (most likely) D.) All of the above.

For those of you who are late to the party, you can check out the first teaser trailer, the first official trailer, and Neil deGrasse Tyson’s Cosmos promo covering the movie, here, here, and here. You can also just jump in and read the page-turning novel from Andy Weir that spawned this blockbuster from Ridley Scott and friends. You’d better catch up quickly, however, as this baby blasts off in T-minus 25 days.

The Martian hits theaters October 2, 2015. Along with Damon, the film also stars Jessica Chastain (Interstellar, Zero Dark Thirty), Kristen Wiig (Welcome to Me, The Skeleton Twins), Kate Mara (House of Cards), Michael Pena (Fury, End of Watch), Jeff Daniels (The Newsroom, Dumb and Dumber To), Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave, Children of Men), and Donald Glover (Community, Mystery Team).

Deadpool & Wolverine: Everything we know about the film formerly known as Deadpool 3
Deadpool and Wolverine stand together in Deadpool & Wolverine.

In retrospect, we should have suspected that Deadpool & Wolverine wouldn't keep its most famous co-star out of the title. In 2022, Ryan Reynolds coaxed Hugh Jackman into reprising his role as Wolverine for the first time since 2017's Logan. Once that happened, the name Deadpool 3 didn't fully convey how monumental this film would be.

So Marvel Studios has officially retitled it as Deadpool & Wolverine. Jackman has also humorously rebranded the film as Wolverine & [expletive], which would make this R-rated flick a lot harder to market!

Everything you need to know about Alien: Romulus
Cailee Spaeny in Alien: Romulus.

There's a distinction that few people make with Alien's famous "In space, no one can hear you scream" tagline. That statement is only true in the vacuum of space. Inside of a spaceship, the screams are perfectly audible, and it sounds like there's going to be a lot of screaming in the next film in the series, Alien: Romulus.

It's no secret that the films after Ridley Scott's Alien embraced action over horror. But Alien: Romulus is getting back to the franchise's horror roots thanks to director and co-writer Fede Álvarez. Prior to this film, Álvarez established himself in the horror genre with his terrific remake of Evil Dead as well as his original film Don't Breathe. That's the sensibility that Álvarez is bringing to Alien: Romulus.
