Having proven herself at the box office and with TV ratings alike, Tina Fey has landed a two-year first-look deal for her production banner, Little Stranger, with Universal Pictures, as reported by Deadline. Together, Fey and the studio had recent success with Sisters, a comedy film starring Fey and Amy Poehler, to the tune of over $86 million at the domestic box office (at the time of publishing), per Box Office Mojo data.

Even before the deal was announced, Fey was set to star in multiple other projects in development at Universal, including You Bet! and Do Nothing Bitches. The films each look promising, with Do Nothing Bitches co-starring UFC fighter Ronda Rousey, and You Bet! telling the story of three women who end up counting cards in Atlantic City. Girls writer Sarah Heyward has been hired to write the script for You Bet!, which is based on a Good Housekeeping article of the same title by Ruth Palmer.

Universal Pictures chairman Donna Langley announced the deal, highlighting Fey’s impressive career so far. “With her trademark wit, unparalleled voice, and business acumen, Tina has found success on nearly every platform — both in front of and behind the camera,” said Langley. “She is a comedic icon whose fearless commitment to her craft has made her one of the entertainment industry’s most in-demand talents.”

Fey made a name for herself as a writer and actor on Saturday Night Live and went on to pen and co-star in Mean Girls and 30 Rock. Her acting credits also include Date NightMegamind, and the upcoming Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, among others. She’ll continue to work with Eric Gurian, the executive vice president of Little Stranger, who has been her collaborator on numerous projects from her SNL days to her more recent work on the Netflix comedy Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

Disney Plus Free Trial: Can you stream for free in 2024?
Disney+ app on the iPad Air 5.

There is currently no Disney Plus free trial. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. In fact, there hasn't been a Disney Plus free trial for many years. But all is not lost. While you can't get Disney Plus for free, there are quite a few very cheap options. We list all of the tiers and options below: Everything from the $8 ad-supported tier to the $25 Disney Bundle Trio, which includes ad-free Disney Plus, ad-free Hulu and ESPN+. Occasionally Disney has a deal that gets you three months for $6 total, but that's not available right now. We'll keep you updated if it ever comes back.

The best and most reliable way to save is through the Disney Bundle, which sees ESPN Plus and Hulu thrown in for just $15 a month. On their own, Disney Plus is normally $8 per month, Hulu is $8, and ESPN is $10, so this is a great deal.  If it sounds good to you, you should start your subscription now. The price of the Disney Bundle increased to $15 on October 12, 2023.
