Apple has unveiled a new iMac and a 14-inch MacBook Pro, both powered by its new baseline M6 chip. If you’ve been eyeing either device, now is the time to act, as entry-level configurations are becoming harder to get with each product launch.

The devices will be open for pre-order Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 10:10 AM PT. Meanwhile, deliveries and store stock will arrive on Friday, November 6.

How much do the products cost?

Start with the iMac, since it hides the one decision that can really sting.

The $1,499 model gets 10 processor cores and 10 graphics cores. However, spending another $200 gets you 12 CPU and GPU cores, making the chipset slightly more capable for heavier workloads.

Here’s the catch. You only get 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet (a faster wired connection) and all four Thunderbolt 4 ports (speedy plugs for drives and displays) with the pricier 12-core model. The cheaper version features only two Thunderbolt 4 ports.

Once you’ve made your peace with that, you have yet another decision to make. The M6 iMac is available in green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, or silver.

Meanwhile, the MacBook Pro starts at $1,999 with 16GB of memory and 1TB of storage. The color selection process is much easier, with only two options: Space Black or Silver.

Where do you order, and how can you save?

Apple’s announcement points to two places: its website and the Apple Store app.

Now, my favorite part: paying less. Trading in an older device gives you credit, though Apple doesn’t list amounts. Apple Card Monthly Installments mean 0% APR (no interest) plus 3% Daily Cash back.

Or lease for 36 months through Apple Upgrade from $28.99 for the iMac or $38.99 for the MacBook Pro, before taxes. Students and educators get year-round pricing starting at $1,449 for the iMac and $1,899 for the MacBook Pro.

Honestly, pick your iMac tier first, then shop.

A small iPad tweak that fixes a big daily annoyance.

It’s funny when a brand-new phone teaches an old tablet a lesson. That’s exactly what the iPhone Duo seems to have done for the iPad. I’m genuinely glad somebody at Apple was paying attention, as it was overdue.

iPadOS 27.2 makes setting up side-by-side apps on an iPad much easier, and it is an iPad multitasker’s dream come true if you ask me.

Google’s next Googlebook could make your Android tablets feel outdated
Googlebooks are moving beyond traditional laptops, and the next one might look more like a tablet.

Googlebooks have only been around for a little over a month, but Google is already looking beyond traditional laptops. The company has confirmed that detachable Googlebooks are on the way, meaning we could soon see devices that work as both a tablet and a laptop without carrying two separate gadgets.

The announcement came during the Android Dev Summit 2026, where Google outlined its plans to expand the Googlebook lineup beyond the clamshell and convertible designs currently available. While the company hasn't revealed an official launch date or shown any hardware, an earlier leak suggests Lenovo could be the first manufacturer to bring one to market.
