Who says you can’t take it with you? Hauppauge Computer Works has announced Wing, a $24.99 software add-on for the company’s WinTV-PVR TV tuner products which enables users to record live TV shows for playback on Apple’s new video-capable iPod, Sony’s PlayStation Portable (PSP) game units, or portable DivX players.
Wing works with all models of Hauppauge’s WinTV-PVR TV tuners (WinTV-PVR-150, WinTV-PVR-250, WinTV-PVR-350, and WinTV-PVR-USB2), and can be used with the TitanTV TV schedule service to schedule recordings for iPod or PSP with one click. Similarly, recordings for iPod or PSP can be scheduled using the latest version of the company’s WinTV-Schedule software, and Wing can convert shows previously recording in MPEG format to mobile video so you can catch up with backlogged shows on your mobile devices.
Wing also includes a direct-to-disk feature to record television shows directly to DVD disk while the show is on-air, with the capability to store multiple shows on a single DVD.
Wing works only with Hauppauge’s WinTV-PVR products and is available for Windows XP, 98SE, Windows Me, and Windows 2000.
