TV speakers have one job and one job only: to make sound. As far as actual sound quality goes, well, that doesn’t matter as much. Popular TV manufacturers like Samsung, Sony, and LG are far more concerned with giving you the best-looking picture, which is why these three companies (and many others) also make soundbars.

About as literal as it gets, a soundbar is a bar of speakers that are typically larger and louder than the ones that are built into TVs. And because this is a dedicated audio product we’re talking about, you can also expect a wider soundstage and improved treble, midrange, and bass response. We see a lot of soundbar deals on a daily basis, including this fantastic offer:

When you purchase the Samsung HW-B650 3.1 Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer at Best Buy, you’ll only spend $230 for a limited time. At full price, this model sells for $400.

Why you should buy the Samsung HW-B650 Soundbar

The Samsung HW-B650 is a tremendous audio investment for small to medium-sized rooms. You’ll also notice this is a 3.1 system, which means the bar has a dedicated center speaker. This bodes well for folks who need a boost in the dialogue department. There’s Dolby Atmos branding here, but do keep in mind that this Samsung soundbar can only virtualize a full 3D Atmos (or DTS:X) experience.

Packaged with a wireless subwoofer that only requires one wall outlet, you’ll get plenty of low-end performance from this Samsung bar. Not to mention the extra thump and rumble you’ll get with the push-button Bass Boost preset. (Other audio presets include Voice Enhanced and Night Mode). We were excited to learn that the B650 is Q Series compatible, too, which means you’ll be able to combine soundbar audio with specific Samsung TV speakers for an even bigger soundstage!

Other noteworthy features include a Bluetooth input with Multipoint connectivity, an automatic Game Mode, and a wall mount kit if you want to hang the soundbar beneath a wall-mounted TV.

It’s hard to say how long this markdown is going to last, though our experience with these kinds of Best Buy deals is they tend to go pretty quickly, so now could be the best time to save! Take $170 off the Samsung HW-B650 3.1 Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer when you order through Best Buy, and be sure to check out some of the best Samsung TV deals we’ve been finding!

Sonos Ace logo earcup close-up.

Sonos is preparing to launch a new pair of wireless headphones called the Sonos Ace Ultra, and this time the company appears to be taking a much more serious swing at AI.

The headphones were revealed through an FCC filing, first reported by Lowpass, with much of the filing redacted. The documents nevertheless confirm the Ace Ultra name and indicate that the headphones could be offered in up to five colours, a notable change from the original Ace, which launched in 2024 only in black and white.
