Digital Trends Delivers Holiday Survival Guide for Black Friday

Portland, OR – (November 22, 2016) – Today, Portland-based tech media publisher Digital Trends released their official Holiday Survival Guide for 2016: www.digitaltrends.com/gift-guide/holiday2016

Sponsored in part by Samsung Wearables, Digital Trends’ Holiday Survival Guide compiles the ultimate walkthrough of a holiday scenario that takes into account all the technology that might be used by weary travelers.

“We know that in addition to all the cheer and joy of the holidays – it can also be stressful,” said Pete Jacobs, VP of Integrated Marketing.  “We also know from our research that in addition to buying gifts, people spend heavily on themselves at this time of year.  So this year’s guide is a spirited way to give people some items that our editorial team has identified as the stuff they most want for themselves.”

Photographed and designed by Digital Trends’ in-house content team DT Design, the Holiday Survival Guide features the site’s staff in a variety of all too familiar holiday situations and gives readers some tips for making the best of them.  This year’s guide features essential tech and recommendations for parties, travel and entertaining.

“This was a collaborative project to work on as we recruited people from our Portland office and got them in front of the camera.  All departments are represented and I was amazed at how “method” and in character people got with their holiday personae.  Easily one of the most inspired projects we’ve done with the DT Design group,” added Jacobs.

The Holiday Survival Guide launch is the start of a packed holiday season for Digital Trends.  In addition to the Guide, Digital Trends will have extensive Black Friday and Cyber Monday coverage. Digital Trends is expecting to see a growing share of mobile traffic as the overall smartphone purchasing rate is expected to increase 16% from 2015. Mobile traffic (which includes mobile devices and tablets), has grown 4.5% in 2016. Cell phones & Accessories, Computers, Electronics, and Video games can be expected to be in the top categories. Overall market growth is projected at 13% above 2015.
