Leaked pictures: Motorola Xoom 2 tablets and the Droid RAZR

Motorola is gearing up for some new device launches. We’ve got leaked pictures of the return of the RAZR and the manufacturer’s second stab at the Xoom.

Droid RAZR

Motorola may be preparing to resurrect its iconic, faded RAZR brand, sort of. Over the weekend, The Verge posted some new leaked screens of the upcoming Motorola phone, which appears to be a renaming of the Droid HD, which was first spotted back in August. Here are the latest rumored specs for the upcoming Verizon phone: 4G LTE connectivity, a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, an 8MP camera with 1080p video recording, an “HD” front-facing camera, and, of course, Motorola’s usual Webtop enhancements. So…does it look like a RAZR phone? To us, we can see some small similarities, but the RAZR succeeded because it was different from every other phone on the market. This Droid RAZR looks so similar to every other Android phone that an average consumer may not even know that it’s a RAZR until they’re told. Hopefully there is something more moving about this phone. More on the new RAZR as we hear about it.

Xoom 2 tablet(s)

The Xoom has not performed as well as Motorola predicted, but the company will continue the brand. Engadget has snagged some leaked shots of two Motorola Xoom 2 tablets. From the looks of it, Motorola has taken a cue from Samsung and will introduce a slightly smaller 8.9-inch Xoom 2 as well.

Though we’re not huge fans of the coloring on the back (it looks like a kids Walkie Talkie), the new Xooms may be about as thick as the 9.3mm iPhone 4. The units currently run on Android 3.2, have 5MP “HD” rear cameras, and will both run 4G LTE on Verizon. Not bad, right? Let’s hope they clean up the design.
