Overcompensating a little? Kingston blows minds with a 1 TB flash drive

Need a massive amount of portable storage space? Your options just got far more mind blowing. Today at CES, Kingston has revealed the DataTraveler HyperX Predator, a USB 3.0 flash drive that comes in 512GB and 1TB capacities, making it the largest capacity USB flash memory drive in the world.

It’s fast, too. Kingston quotes read speeds of up to 240 MB/s and write speeds of up to 160 MB/s. These figures put it in league with the fastest drives money can buy. Consumers will be able to grab the drive sometime in the first quarter of this year. The drive’s extravagant specs comes with an equally extravagant starting price of $1,750 for the 512GB model.

Kingston also revealed the latest revision of its mainstream performance USB flash drives, the DataTraveler Ultimate G3. It will come in 32GB and 64GB capacities and offer read speeds of up to 150 MB/s with write speeds up to 70MB/s. The drive is shipping immediately.
