iPhone Falls Short In UK

Sales figures for the iPhone in the UK have fallen short of expectations by 5%.

It might not be the end of the world, but, according to a report in the Financial Times, sales figures for the iPhone in theUK have fallen 5% short of goals since its release in November.   That might seem a small amount, but considering that Apple revealed that a total of fourmillion handsets have been sold overall in the four countries where it’s been released, it must be disappointing for O2 and Carphone Warehouse, which have the franchise for the UK.   In fact, several analysts have forecast that they’ll try to bring in more users byscrapping the $540 fee for the set. But the lack of an announcement of a 3G phone must have hurt the companies, although O2 claims the phone is its fastest-selling item.
