Leaked white Nexus 4 shows two-tone paint job, but no hardware surprises

White Nexus 4 E960W LeakThis year’s gadget-sparse Google I/O event is still a painful memory, but the lack of major new hardware announcements has meant we’ve continued to see leaks concerning the devices which weren’t unveiled at the show. A white version of the Nexus 4 can’t be called a “new” rumor, but the latest report gives us our best look at the phone to date.

A series of press-ready photos have been published by AndroidPolice.com, showing front, rear, and side views of the phone, revealing a two-tone black and white device. Although the white rear panel doesn’t appear to have the same holographic, sparkly design seen on the black model, the effect has never pictured well, so we’d expect it to still be there.

The report says the phone has the model number E960W, and according to the source of the snaps, will have either 8GB or 16GB of storage, plus Android 4.2 installed. There have been rumors of an updated version of the Nexus 4, including support for 4G and CDMA networks, plus an internal storage bump to 32GB. If any of these are coming, they apparently weren’t part of the leaked device’s specs, nor were they included on the white Nexus 4 spotted during Google I/O either.

It has been suggested the white Nexus 4 will be announced on June 10, but there has been no official word yet, but if Google and LG are going to release the white Nexus 4 to the public, it would be best to get on with it. It’s not the most up-to-date device available these days, and while it is very good value, a replacement can’t be that far away. If sales are falling due to anticipation of a Nexus 5, we’re not sure if a white version (without the enhancements mentioned above being added) will be enough to give them a boost, but if it’s to have any hope of doing so, it needs to come sooner rather than later.

Apps on the Apple Watch Series 9's screen.

I’m just going to come out and say it: I love the Apple Watch Series 9. A couple of weeks ago, I returned to wearing it every day after an extended period of not doing so. And you know what? I was surprised by how much I’d missed it.

But one thing has bothered me this time around: There's a feature I haven't been using. Not because it’s bad, but because I tend to forget it's there.

The OnePlus 12R is still one of 2024’s best smartphone deals
OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition in hand.

OnePlus is still quite new to me, as I was a lifelong iPhone user until I joined Digital Trends. However, OnePlus has a pretty solid reputation in the mobile world, and now I can see why, as the OnePlus 12 is one of my favorite smartphones that I’ve used so far this year.

But the OnePlus 12 isn’t the only phone that OnePlus launched in 2024. There is also the more affordable value option, the OnePlus 12R, which even comes in a cool Genshin Impact Edition.
