Bourne in 90 Seconds: Matt Damon gives a recap of the franchise so far

Matt Damon made his debut as Jason Bourne in 2002’s The Bourne Identity, and his portrayal of the former black-ops agent went on to spawn a successful franchise of films that continues with this week’s Jason Bourne. However, with four films packed with double-crosses, memory wipes, and shady government conspiracies, it can be difficult to keep track of everything that led up to this week’s fifth installment of the franchise.

Fortunately, Damon has it covered.

Universal Pictures has released a video — titled Bourne in 90 seconds — featuring Damon himself recapping the relevant events of the previous four films. And amazingly, it does a pretty impressive job of bringing audiences up to speed with Jason Bourne’s complicated saga so far.

Jason Bourne reunites Damon with The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum director Paul Greengrass in a film set 12 years after the events of the latter film. The movie features the return of Jason Bourne (Damon) after he was widely believed to be dead, which prompts no small amount of concern among government agents played by Oscar winners Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina) and Tommy Lee Jones (Men in Black). The film’s cast also features the return of Julia Stiles as former support technician Nicky Parsons, who has a long history with Bourne.

Damon and Greengrass previously indicated that the film’s plot will spin out of events that occurred between the events of The Bourne Supremacy, which ended with Jason going underground in 2004, and his re-emergence in 2016. Where he was and what led him to suddenly make an explosive return onto the CIA’s radar will be explored as the action unfolds.

The script for Jason Bourne was penned by Greengrass and Christopher Rouse, who served as an editor on The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum.

Jason Bourne hits theaters July 29.

A WWE Premium Live Event (PLE) is heading to Lyon Metropolis for the first time for WWE Backlash France 2024. Since the formation of TKO in September 2023, WWE has prioritized global expansion. In 2024, Backlash France is the second PLE to be held outside the U.S., and it won't be the last. Five of the next six WWE PLEs will take place outside the U.S.

Heading into Backlash, WWE is entering the "American Nightmare Era." After finishing his story at WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes is now the Undisputed WWE Champion. A different era means a new crop of challengers for Rhodes. First up is AJ Styles, a former two-time WWE champion. Rhodes must bring his A-game if he wants to walk out of France as champion.

If you have to watch one Star Wars movie this May the 4th, stream this one
Luke looking off into the binary sunset before dying in The Last Jedi.

Every Star Wars fan has a favorite movie, and many Star Wars fans also hate at least one of the entries in one of their favorite franchises. That can make the exercise of choosing the perfect Star Wars movie to watch on May the 4th difficult. For all of the love this fan base has shown to the franchise over the years, it's also a fan base that has strong opinions about why one movie or another is worthy of your time.

This May 4, though, I'd recommend watching Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Almost undoubtedly the most controversial entry in the saga, one that makes some people furious and others jump for joy, The Last Jedi is worthy of your attention, whether you like what it's doing or not. Here are three reasons you should check it out:
