Resistance 3 will be here before you know it, on September 6. The wait is even easier now, thanks to the just-launched multiplayer beta, which you can see our impressions of here. Just to ratchet up your excitement a little more, Insomniac Games announced that the game has officially gone gold — meaning the final code is off to be mass-produced for retail distribution — today on the PlayStation Blog.
Early Access beta players, mainly those who received a code with the purchase of SOCOM 4, get to join in on the fun starting today. Others will be able to join up eventually as well, starting later this month with PlayStation Plus subscribers. Insomniac hasn’t specified an end date for the beta, but we know for sure that it will be running through most of August, if not all of it.
The dev released a new gameplay trailer to celebrate the game’s gold status. Work continues on a day one patch, as well as on tuning the finished game’s multiplayer experience based on feedback received during the beta.
