If you want to get your hands on the best PS5 games as quickly as possible, grabbing them off the PSN is the way to go. This digital storefront has everything you could want, from multiplayer games to indie games. Of course, unless you're just downloading a free PS5 game, you will need to pay for your game. Previously, Apple Pay was only an option when making a purchase on the website or through the app, but now you can use it right on your console. Here's how it works.

How to buy PS5 games with Apple Pay

The only things required to buy any new game or add-on on your PlayStation 5 with Apple pay is a PS5 and Apple Pay. Apple Pay is only available on PS5, not PS4, so you can't use this payment method if you're still using the last-generation console.

Step 1: Find the content you wish to purchase on the PSN.

Step 2: Add it to your cart.

Step 3: Go to the checkout screen and select Apple Pay from the list of payment methods.

Step 4: Select Confirm Purchase.

Step 5: Your PS5 will now display a QR code you need to scan with your iOS device.

Step 6: After you scan the code, you can complete the transaction on your iOS device.

Using Apple Pay on the PS5 is just another way to easily pay for new content. It is especially handy if you would rather not store your credit card information on your console for security reasons.

Anthropic cracks down on video game cloning with new Claude restrictions
Claude can still help develop original games, but copying existing titles is now off the table.
Claude website open on laptop

AI has been making its way into video game development for a while now, but the recent developments have started raising some serious concerns. Popular games are being reverse-engineered with AI assistance, recreated for web browsers, and made playable on platforms they were never released for. The change was first spotted on X and subsequently confirmed by Anthropic's Addy Osmani. The new instructions prevent Claude from recreating specific existing games, even if they are renamed or presented as original projects. Users can still make original games, work on games within a genre, and use their own designs and assets.

Phantom Blade Zero hands-on: An extraordinary game with unbelievable combat that I can’t get enough of
Every fight feels like a beautifully choreographed martial arts movie, except I'm the one controlling every move.
Phantom Blade Zero poster

We have had a considerable number of high-profile game releases this year, but none so far have had as much hype behind them as Phantom Blade Zero. The source of all that hype was a 2023 trailer highlighting its fluid kung-fu-derived sword combat. Considering that, at the time of writing this piece, there are over 700,000 concurrent players on Steam alone, on a weekday no less, I think it's safe to say that the hype has converted into gamers actually showing up for the game. I have sunk around 10 hours into this game today, and so far, it has been nothing short of an absolute masterclass in action combat.
