Sony Showcases New HD Camcorder

Sony yesterday announced a new high definition video camcorder which is over a quarter more compact then its predecessor and costs less. The new HDR-HC3 HDV 1080i Handycam camcorder is priced at $1,699.99 and should be available in April.

The HD-HC3, said Sony, sports a Carl Zeiss Vario- Sonnar T* lens and Sony CMOS sensor technology to deliver what the company says is more vivid colors and precise image detail. Other features of this new Handycam include a four megapxiel still image capture capability, a dual record function to capture video and photos at the same time, storage of still images on an optional Memory Stick Pro Duo memory card, slow motion video record, a user assignable dial to access more regularly used options, a 2.7
