What’s happened? As the launch of the OnePlus 15 is likely just around the corner, key details about this upcoming device are hitting the internet. This specs leak has come from a tipster on Weibo (via GSMArena), giving us a better idea of what to expect after OnePlus released images of its next flagship phone – including a battery which could blow Apple and Google away.

  • The OnePlus 15 will pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset – something which has been confirmed for the handset.
  • You might get the choice of 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and up to 1TB worth of storage.
  • OnePlus’ in-house gaming technology, the Fengchi Gaming Core 2.0, is tipped to feature here.
  • The leak also claims the OnePlus 15 will feature a new cooling system.
  • Users might benefit from IP66 / IP68 / IP69 dust and water resistance.

Why is this important? While the details on this device aren’t confirmed by OnePlus – it’s important to take them with a pinch of salt for now – they give us insight into what the OnePlus 15 could bring to the table, including screen and battery specs:

  • The OnePlus 15 is said to feature a 6.78-inch, 1.5K resolution, Pro XDR ultra-dynamic display.
  • The panel is tipped to be a BOE X3 AMOLED display with a 1-165Hz dynamic refresh rate.
  • The leak claims the screen will also reach 1800 nits peak maximum brightness – considerably lower than the iPhone 17 and Pixel 10 series (all 3,000 nits+).
  • As for the battery, the leak claims the OnePlus 15 will come with a mammoth 7,300mAh battery – a huge upgrade over the still-sizable 6,000mAh power pack in the OnePlus 13 it’ll replace, and much larger than current flagships from Apple, Samsung and Google.
  • This battery is said to support 120W wired and 50W wireless charging.

Why should I care? The OnePlus 15 is a flagship device which will need to outperform the competition, so we expect to see top-of-the-line specifications – and that is exactly what is being leaked.

  • According to the leak, the OnePlus 15 should also be a capable camera phone, but it might not surpass what already available on the market.
  • The rear camera configuration will see a trio of cameras; an ultra-wide, a wide , and a telephoto.
  • The main camera is tipped to be Sony’s LYT-700 sensor, which is also found on last year’s OnePlus 13.

Okay, what’s next? For now, the only confirmed OnePlus 15 details are its design (as shown in the image at the top of this article), one of its color options (Sand Storm) and the inclusion of Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip.

A third independent supply chain analysis is now pointing in the same direction as the previous two: the iPhone 18 Pro Max will be more expensive at launch. In addition, Apple might have to settle for a slightly thinner margin on the device than it usually charges for other products.

Counterpoint Research's bill-of-materials estimate for the 12GB plus 1TB iPhone 18 Pro Max shows a cost rise of nearly $300 compared to the same configuration in the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Google’s own Photos app just gave Android users another reason to envy iPhone
A Google Photos redesign that arrived on iOS months ago is now rolling out to Android through version 7.82.
Google Photos AI

Google Photos on Android is finally getting the cleaner bottom navigation bar iPhone users have had since February. That’s a strange thing to say about a Google app on Google’s own mobile platform, but here we are.

The update replaces the old docked bar with a floating pill that sits above the bottom edge of the screen. It no longer covers the photos underneath, and it puts Gemini-powered Ask Photos beside the main navigation.
