You know those times when you watch modern car-based films and you see a 30+ year old muscle car outrun the fastest cars on the road? Well, it turns out that while it may be possible, it needs a whole lot of help.
In the recently released behind-the-scenes video, the Need for Speed filmmakers give us a brief glimpse at the “Muscle Foundry,” where they fine-tune muscle cars for the track. “Fine-tune” in this case means replacing the whole engine and the front of the body. It’s not a simple process, but it is doable with the right people, and a will to make all cars equal under the camera lens.
The clip is short – very short – so you may want to supplement it with the film’s recently released Super Bowl trailer. Hopefully that will hold you over until Need for Speed hits theaters on March 14, 2014.
