Noble’s M600 Drophead could be the ultimate hair dryer

It may not be as flashy as a Ferrari or Lamborghini but, when it comes to pure performance, the Noble M600 is just as impressive.

Still, not every supercar buyer wants to fly under the radar, which is why Noble is considering a convertible Drophead version. A prototype of this car was first shown in 2012, and now the Netherlands’ Telegraf reports it’s heading to production.

The emphasis there is on “heading.” Noble said a more-advanced prototype is currently being built, but the M600 Drophead hasn’t received the official green light yet. Noble is a pretty small company, after all, so things tend to move a little more slowly.

This super drop-top will likely be worth the wait, though. It would almost certainly use the same Volvo-derived 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 as the M600 coupe, with 650 horsepower and 604 pound-feet of torque.

That’s enough to launch the hardtop M600 to 62 mph in three seconds flat, and propel it to an estimated top speed of 225 mph. The M600 Drophead will probably be slower due to added weight and a less-slippery body, but it should still be able to get out of its own way.

There’s not firm date for the launch of the M600 Drophead, and given Noble’s minuscule production numbers, you may never know if that date has arrived.

Rivian has finally unveiled the R2, its long-awaited attempt at a more affordable electric SUV. The new vehicle may not be available just yet, but fans of Rivian's design aesthetics and feature set are already looking forward to being able to order the new car. The R2 is targeted at being a more affordable take on the electric SUV and will sit alongside the flagship-tier R1S.

Let's get this out of the way right now: The R1S is most likely going to be a better vehicle than the R2. Rivian isn't replacing the R1S with the R2 — it's releasing the R2 as a more affordable alternative, and there will be some compromises when buying the R2 over the R1S.

2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N drifting.

We’re finally getting to the fun part of automakers’ methodical quest to replicate their lineups with electric cars.

Performance versions of ordinary cars have been a staple of the auto industry for decades. But while we’ve already seen some variants of EVs boasting more power and more impressive stats — think Tesla Model S Plaid or Lucid Air Sapphire — the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is the first to truly apply that format to an EV.
