Resident Evil: Revelations 2, the upcoming, episodic return to Capcom’s long-running survival horror series, debuts its first episode on February 25, one week later than its originally announced release on February 17. Capcom attributes the delay to a need for “additional polishing work and gameplay optimisation.”
Episodes 2 through 4 will come out on a weekly basis, arriving on March 4, 11, and 18. A full, collected retail release will then follow on March 20. The game will be available on PlayStation and Xbox consoles and Windows. In the meantime, an HD remaster of the original Resident Evil will arrive on those same platforms on January 20.
Resident Evil: Revelations 2, the tenth entry in the series, casts you as Claire Redfield, the returning protagonist from Resident Evil 2. Moira, daughter of Barry Burton from the first game, will play a supporting role.
The game opens with Claire and Moira being kidnapped and taken to a mysterious island detention facility, infested with horrible creatures called Afflicted–a zombie by any other name would smell as putrid.
