Selling just 450 cars in 10 years doesn’t seem like something to celebrate, unless you’re Bugatti.

The Alsatian carmaker says it has sold the final Veyron, and will display it at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, which opens next week.

Fittingly dubbed “La Finale,” the last Veyron is a Grand Sport Vitesse, the sportier of the two open-topped Veyron models. It features the 1,200-horsepower version of 8.0-liter, quad-turbocharged W16 engine and aerodynamic upgrades from the Super Sport coupe.

This was the only version of the Veyron still available was production wound down, the coupe models having long sold out.

Bugatti originally planned to sell just 300 coupes, but added the 150 Grand Sport and Grand Sport Vitesse roadsters later on.

Chassis number 450 will go to an unnamed buyer in the Middle East, and will be displayed alongside the first Veyron in Geneva.

After a decade of collecting superlatives, the Veyron will then ride off into the sunset, and all eyes will turn to its replacement.

Bugatti has said it will start working on a new model, but the exact details and the timeline of its launch seem to be in flux.

The Veyron replacement is expected to be another supercar, possibly called Chiron. Whatever they’re planning, Bugatti’s engineers and designers will have to work pretty hard to top their last effort.

Rivian has finally unveiled the R2, its long-awaited attempt at a more affordable electric SUV. The new vehicle may not be available just yet, but fans of Rivian's design aesthetics and feature set are already looking forward to being able to order the new car. The R2 is targeted at being a more affordable take on the electric SUV and will sit alongside the flagship-tier R1S.

Let's get this out of the way right now: The R1S is most likely going to be a better vehicle than the R2. Rivian isn't replacing the R1S with the R2 — it's releasing the R2 as a more affordable alternative, and there will be some compromises when buying the R2 over the R1S.

Don’t let the gimmicks fool you. The Ioniq 5 N is a serious track car
2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N drifting.

We’re finally getting to the fun part of automakers’ methodical quest to replicate their lineups with electric cars.

Performance versions of ordinary cars have been a staple of the auto industry for decades. But while we’ve already seen some variants of EVs boasting more power and more impressive stats — think Tesla Model S Plaid or Lucid Air Sapphire — the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is the first to truly apply that format to an EV.
