Holy Boomsticks! Check out the first teaser for Ash vs. Evil Dead

Ash vs Evil Dead - Teaser Trailer
Find your chainsaw and reacquaint yourself with those ancient Sumerian texts, because the first teaser for Ash Vs. Evil Dead has finally arrived.

Starz Network has released the first teaser for the upcoming series that will serve as a sequel to Sam Raimi’s popular Evil Dead horror franchise, and the 15-second video sets the tone with the sound of a chainsaw revving up for another battle with the soul-swallowing Deadites.

Bruce Campbell will reprise his franchise-leading role as reluctant demon-fighter Ashley J. Williams (a.k.a. “Ash”) in the series, which is set several decades after the events of 1992’s Army of Darkness. The series follows an aging Ash doing his best to avoid the responsibilities of being the world’s savior, only to have his past catch up with him when a Deadite plague threatens humanity once again.

Campbell is joined in the cast by Spartacus actress Lucy Lawless as a mysterious woman who thinks Ash may have something to do with the Deadite plague, Sleepy Hollow actress Jill Marie Jones as a Michigan State Trooper who blames Ash for her partner’s death, and Touch actor Ray Santiago as Ash’s loyal sidekick in his battle against the Deadites.

Raimi, who kicked off the franchise with the 1981 cult classic The Evil Dead, will direct the pilot episode of Ash Vs. Evil Dead. The episode was co-written by Raimi and his brother, Ivan Raimi (Army of Darkness, Drag Me to Hell), as well as Craig DiGregorio (Chuck) and Tom Spezialy (Chuck, Reaper). DiGregorio will serve as the showrunner for the series, with Campbell, Sam Raimi, and Rob Tapert (Evil Dead, Spartacus) as executive producers.

While the 2013 film Evil Dead is considered to be both a pseudo-sequel and reboot of the original trilogy (Evil DeadEvil Dead II, and Army of Darkness), it’s uncertain whether that film will have any connection to the Starz series.

The first season of Ash Vs. Evil Dead will span 10 half-hour episodes, with an expected premiere in late 2015 on Starz.

Logo for WWE Backlash France.

A WWE Premium Live Event (PLE) is heading to Lyon Metropolis for the first time for WWE Backlash France 2024. Since the formation of TKO in September 2023, WWE has prioritized global expansion. In 2024, Backlash France is the second PLE to be held outside the U.S., and it won't be the last. Five of the next six WWE PLEs will take place outside the U.S.

Heading into Backlash, WWE is entering the "American Nightmare Era." After finishing his story at WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes is now the Undisputed WWE Champion. A different era means a new crop of challengers for Rhodes. First up is AJ Styles, a former two-time WWE champion. Rhodes must bring his A-game if he wants to walk out of France as champion.

If you have to watch one Star Wars movie this May the 4th, stream this one
Luke looking off into the binary sunset before dying in The Last Jedi.

Every Star Wars fan has a favorite movie, and many Star Wars fans also hate at least one of the entries in one of their favorite franchises. That can make the exercise of choosing the perfect Star Wars movie to watch on May the 4th difficult. For all of the love this fan base has shown to the franchise over the years, it's also a fan base that has strong opinions about why one movie or another is worthy of your time.

This May 4, though, I'd recommend watching Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Almost undoubtedly the most controversial entry in the saga, one that makes some people furious and others jump for joy, The Last Jedi is worthy of your attention, whether you like what it's doing or not. Here are three reasons you should check it out:
