The notion of studios releasing previews of movie trailers — essentially, previews of previews — might seem a bit ridiculous, but that’s the world we live in now. And when it comes to a movie as big as the upcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, every sneak-peek is big news.
Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder is clearly well aware of that fact, and released a 20-second teaser for the much-anticipated superhero movie this week via Twitter.

Beyond confirming that Batman and Superman — or at the very least, their superhero suits — will indeed appear in Batman v. Superman, the teaser doesn’t reveal much of anything about the film or offer up any surprises for fans. The tone appears to be right in line with Snyder’s polarizing Superman reboot Man Of Steel, so there’s reason to believe that Dawn of Justice will offer a similar, angsty spin on its iconic DC Comics heroes.
However, the teaser was accompanied by the announcement of special screenings for the official, full-length Batman v. Superman trailer occurring April 20. The screenings will be held at several IMAX theaters around North America, and fans can RSVP for the screenings via the Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice website. The list of participating theaters is fairly short, so don’t be surprised if you’re shut out of the event.
Directed by Snyder, Batman v. Superman brings back Henry Cavill as Superman, and features the debut of Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, and possibly Jason Momoa as Aquaman (Momoa’s appearance has yet to be confirmed). Other returning cast members from Man of Steel include Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, and Diane Lane as Martha Kent.
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled to hit theaters March 25, 2016.
