Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber has been confirmed as the newest cast member for the upcoming comedy sequel Zoolander 2, with a planned cameo in the flick.

Bieber originally teased the casting on his Facebook page, leaving a post that read “Working on something big right now in Europe. To learn more, follow me on Fahlo … He is so hot right now.” Those who saw the original Zoolander flick might recall Bieber’s reference to a line from the first movie. But then this morning, Bieber posted a Tweet (seen below) that officially let the cat out of the bag.

Starring Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Billy Zane, Will Ferrell, and Penelope Cruz, the storyline follows two superficial, clueless male models, played by Stiller and Wilson, as they navigate the modeling world. The original film was released back in 2001 and, while it wasn’t exactly box office gold, the comedy still managed to make its mark.

To announce the sequel, Stiller and Wilson surprised with a hilarious runway walk at the Valentino show during Paris Fashion Week in March. The script will be written by Stiller and Justin Theroux (Tropic Thunder) and Stiller will serve as director.

But what role will “The Biebs” play? That’s still unknown. Might he be a young Stiller in a flashback sequence, just coming up in the modeling world? Perhaps the hot, new, younger model that’s out to snag all of the best gigs from an aging Derek Zoolander and his BFF Hansel McDonald? Or Or perhaps a bratty pop star that throws tantrums and hangs with the wrong crowd? Perhaps that last one is a little too close to reality — but Bieber could wind up playing himself.

Whatever it is, chances are the role will make fun of Bieber’s reputation in some way, whether by mocking it openly, or alluding to it in some fashion. It’s a great move to further help repair the singer’s image. In March, Bieber smartly took part in a Comedy Central Roast, where celebrities from Snoop Dogg to Martha Stewart poked fun at the pop star.

Zoolander 2 hits theatres in February.

MCU’s Fantastic Four: release date, trailer, cast, plot
The cast of "The Fantastic Four."

It's not a coincidence that one of the first Marvel movies announced after Disney purchased 20th Century Fox's entertainment assets in 2019 was a new reboot of The Fantastic Four. In 1961, Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby launched the Marvel Universe as we know it with Fantastic Four #1, and it was the comic that set the tone for everything that came after.

Because the rights to the Fantastic Four were tied up at Fox for the better part of two decades, FF supporting players like Silver Surfer were withheld from the MCU. Now that the characters are firmly under Marvel Studios' control, the sky's the limit for the upcoming reboot. And we're here to share everything we know about The Fantastic Four so far.
Who has been cast in The Fantastic Four?

The 50 best shows on Netflix in May 2024
Jeff Bridges in A Man in Full.

Netflix keeps such a regular schedule of updates that there's not much difference in terms of new content between the beginning of the month and any other week. To kick things off in May, Netflix has debuted David E. Kelley's adaptation of Tom Wolfe's novel A Man in Full, while also adding the supernatural thriller Evil.

Neither of these series have broken into the list of the most popular shows on Netflix yet. But that could change by the end of the weekend, especially since A Man in Full is the first Netflix original of the month. Thankfully, it won't be the last, as more new shows are on the way in May. And you can keep up with all of them by checking back every Friday as we update our list of the best shows on Netflix right now.
