Aston Martin is bringing a fleet of exclusive models to Pebble Beach, including the DB9 GT

Updated 8-10-2015: Edited to reflect the official launch of the DB9 and Vulcan, which debuted at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, and to fix minor details about versions of the vehicles.

Aston Martin will be busy at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance. The UK automaker will reportedly bring a fleet of concepts and new models to showcase at the posh event in California.

On the docket is the new DB9 GT, DBX Concept, Lagonda sedan, and Vulcan race car. Of those, the DB9 GT is easily the most significant reveal as it will go on sale almost immediately after its introduction in a couple weeks.

The Aston Martin DB9 GT uses an updated 6.0-liter V12 to develop an improved 540 horsepower over the standard DB9. The increased output makes the DB9 GT the most powerful production DB9 variant ever. In addition to the boost in performance, the DB9 GT will receive interior enhancements like orange contrast stitching and genuine carbon fiber trim.

Also important will be the DBX concept, a crossover that has already been approved for production and made its official debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The vehicle marks Aston Martin’s first foray into the crossover segment — and will make its North American debut at Pebble Beach.

The Aston Martin Vulcan race car, which first debuted at the Geneva show as well, and made its first appearance in North America at the New York Auto Show in April, will sport a blue and black exterior and a 7.0-liter V12 with over 800 HP on tap.

Rounding out the fleet will be the Lagonda Taraf sedan, Middle East-only at launch but since being made available to a number of global markets including Europe, Hong Kong, South Africa, and Australia, according to Car and Driver. Only 200 examples will be built, each using a 6.0-liter V12 from the Aston Martin DB9. Further details are pending its introduction later this month, but expect over 500 HP and ultra-exclusive interior build materials. Pebble Beach could be the first and last time the Lagonda sedan appears on U.S. shores.

Aston Martin will revive James Bond’s DB5 at a price only Goldfinger can afford

James Bond's Aston Martin DB5 is one of the all-time great movie cars, and it's about to make a comeback. Aston is working with Eon Productions, the company that produces the Bond films, to build 25 new DB5s identical to the car that appeared in 1964's Goldfinger. As with the recent DB4 GT project, Aston prefers the term "continuation cars," not replicas.

Each new DB5 will be an exact copy of the original movie cars (one of which just reportedly resurfaced after years in hiding), right down to gadgets like the trademark revolving license plate. Unlike a genuine 1960s DB5, however, the new cars won't be road legal. Aston can't certify newly built cars designed for '60s safety standards.

We’re finally getting to the fun part of automakers’ methodical quest to replicate their lineups with electric cars.

Performance versions of ordinary cars have been a staple of the auto industry for decades. But while we’ve already seen some variants of EVs boasting more power and more impressive stats — think Tesla Model S Plaid or Lucid Air Sapphire — the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is the first to truly apply that format to an EV.

The Maserati GranCabrio Folgore is one of the best-looking EVs yet
Front of the Maserati GranCabrio Folgore

Maserati is adopting electrified vehicles with open arms, and while that could potentially signal an identity crisis for the luxury Italian brand, that’s probably a good thing in the long run.

The company recently took the wraps off of the new Maserati GranCabrio Folgore, which is essentially a convertible version of its already released GranTurismo Folgore electric car. The new EV is its third go at electrified vehicles so far, and it flew us out to Rimini, Italy, to witness the big reveal in person.
