Working with Netflix is evidently enjoyable for Imagine Entertainment co-founder and co-chairman Brian Grazer. The Arrested Development executive producer shared plans today to collaborate with the streaming giant yet again, this time for a movie starring Eddie Murphy.

Grazer revealed the project during an interview with Bloomberg Television‘s Emily Chang at the Vanity Fair New Establishment Summit in San Francisco. “I’m going to do a movie with Netflix,” he shared. “I’m going to do a tour-de-force movie that’s cinéma vérité with Eddie Murphy being as raw as he can be.”

It seems that Grazer may have let his news slip a little too early, though. A source told Deadline that it was premature to announce the project at this point. Apparently, many details still have to be finalized, including contracts. Hopefully, the fact that word is out will spur on all parties involved to ensure that it happens.

Grazer also discussed how platforms like Netflix, Amazon, and others are challenging the networks. For the time being, Grazer believes that networks are at an advantage in terms of scale, but that they should be worried. “Cable television and digital platforms are breaking through with content that matters,” he said.

Netflix previously revived Imagine’s Arrested Development for a fourth season, which is available to the service’s subscribers for streaming. A fifth season of the popular series is coming as well and is due to hit Netflix in spring 2016.

Mark Molloy will direct Beverly Hills Cop 4 for Netflix
Eddie Murphy in a poster for Beverly Hills Cop.

The long-in-development sequel to Beverly Hills Cop has a new director. Via The Wrap, newcomer Mark Molloy is replacing Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah on Netflix's Beverly Hills Cop 4. Eddie Murphy will reprise his iconic role as Axel Foley.

Murphy starred in the original Beverly Hills Cop when it came out in 1984. In the first film, Axel Foley was a cop from Detroit who went to the west coast (and out of his jurisdiction) to find a killer. Detectives Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and John Taggart (John Ashton) were assigned to escort Foley out of Beverly Hills, but they ended up teaming with Foley to solve the crime. Two sequels were made, Beverly Hills Cop 2 in 1987 and Beverly Hills Cop 3 in 1994.

Eddie Murphy was dynamite in Dolemite, regardless of his Oscars snub
Eddie Murphy in Dolemite is My Name

#OscarsSoWhite? Let's add #OscarsSoDumb.

While it's ludicrous that this year's nominees in the acting categories include only two people of color, the most egregious snub was Eddie Murphy's, who has never been better than his performance in Dolemite Is My Name.

10 best action-comedies of all-time, ranked
Mel Gibson and Danny Glover in Lethal Weapon.

While straight action films like John Wick are far from extinct, it's the action comedies that tend to become the popular box office hits. Movie fans just love to laugh at the funny parts while enjoying the accompanying action. Not every action comedy is created equal, and Hollywood has admittedly gone to the well with the buddy-cop movies a little bit too often.

This weekend, The Fall Guy is the latest action comedy to attempt to give the genre some fresh blood, even though it's technically based on a TV series from the '80s that has largely been forgotten. Regardless, that's as good a reason as any to update our list of the best action comedies of all time. It would be too easy to load up this list with films from the '80s and '90s, when action comedies were at their peak. However, we've also saved some slots for more recently released action comedies that deserve some recognition as well.
