The next project for Shaun of the Dead’s Edgar Wright will be focused “on the concept of shadows.” If you’re in the dark as to what that hazy synopsis entails, you’re not alone. Here’s what we do know: The film is a fully-animated DreamWorks Animation project Wright will direct and co-write with English comedian David Walliams (Little Britain, Britain’s Got Talent), and it will be significantly different than the long-on-hold film Me and My Shadow according to Deadline.

“Edgar will spearhead a new approach to this fascinating concept and we’re ecstatic to have him onboard as director along with David as co-writer,” said DreamWorks Animation execs Bonnie Arnold and Mireille Soria in a related statement. “We’ve always been intrigued by a film concept involving shadows, and now with Edgar’s signature comedic style and abilities as a natural storyteller, audiences will be treated to a truly captivating and energetic tale.”

Wright’s previous credits also include co-writing the Steven Spielberg-directed, Peter Jackson-produced 2011 computer-animated film adaptation of The Adventures of Tintin and 2013 sci-fi comedy The World’s End. Also upcoming for the writer/director is the Jamie Foxx and Jon Hamm-starring live-action film Baby Driver coming in 2017, and a project with Johnny Depp based on Neil Gaiman’s Fortunately, the Milk.

“My first endeavors in filmmaking as a teenager were in animation, so it was hugely intriguing to get a call from DreamWorks Animation about potentially directing,” said Wright in a statement.“When the Shadows concept was suggested to me, I could see the poster, the title sequence and pretty much the whole movie. It’s a blast writing this and to have one of my oldest friends in comedy, David Walliams, along for the adventure is a thrill.”

Overseeing the project for DreamWorks Animation are Gregg Taylor and Damon Ross. There isn’t yet a release date or title for the upcoming feature.
